Hosting Multiplayer in Older Versions

So it's been a while, but I remember a way to play older versions of Terraria using some "Terraria Game Launcher," and while it's been over 2 years, I don't remember there being any way to play multiplayer in older versions. Is there any way that y'all know of to host a server in, say, 1.0.6 or 1.1?

Edit: OK, I just got the Game Launcher working and booted up 1.0.6.1, and when I use the Host & Play feature it just crashes, and I can't find any server console in the Older Versions file, so that's out of the question. I'd assume it's possible, because I saw a link on google to a server that claims to be running on 1.2 still, so if you have any ideas, please share them!
