Hotbar Automatic-Switching Bug

Same here, the input acts like its being pressed right after opening Chests, and talking to Shopkeepers. Crafting ends in frustration because of wasting time and resources. Ill play this again when they fix this issue as its the only thing breaking the game when it says " FULL Controller support".
 
I'm having the same exact problem on Windows 11. Just installed Terraria for the first time in years, and the game is unplayable because every time I left-click, a different item is selected. Which item gets selected changes every time I alt-tab.
Literally every other game I have works fine.
 
If anyone is having the same exact problem, I have found a fix. Any time I used any of my hot bar (1-0) I would just auto switch to 1. So, idk if I did this to my self but it was in my hot-bar settings. Just restore to default. The reason I'm posting is because I never ever went into settings, so something happened in the background that I was unaware of. Not sure if it was PC stuff, or mod stuff. Little late to the party, but hope it helps!
