how do i stop enemies from spawning in my arena

i was fighting the empress of light on my arena but i kept getting pushed around by pixies, werewolfs and gastropods lasers so i died
how do i remove enemy spawns from my arena? i have another arena for invasions that has peace candles and sunflowers but enemies keep spawning in it as well so i dont know what to do anymore

peace candles, a town and lit area reduce spawn rates, depending on the enemies spawning, you might need to move your arena

so you say that i need to make a town near my arena? gastropods are the main issue but i cant fight the empress of light in another biome thats not the hallow

I'm not sure if it's true, but I think you can fight the EOL outside the hallow. You can't take and kill a prismatic lacewing without it being in the hallow, though.
