How to Kill Mimic with WORST gears

Hello, this is my first Terraria post on this forum. I believe quite a lot of great early~mid hardmode weapon comes from mimics (chain guillotine, dart gun, daedalus bow.. etc). Unfortunately, most guides on Mimic required advanced equipments, mostly hardmode items. But I realized (many of you may also already know this) that is actually quite unnecessary, as it turns out, you can kill mimic with pre-hardmode items only. See for yourself

I always throught those mimics are easy, since they can deal only melee damage.

Awesome! I've always found biome mimics really difficult.

Hmm I presume this is normal mode? In expert these guys get the ability to reflect projectiles making ranged tactics more problematic
