How was your first day of Terraria, and what made you love the game?

Well, for me, I was around nine and I was looking for new games to play on Megatron's phone. I saw Terraria, which cost about 5.99 or something. I begged Megatron to buy it for me so he did. Anyways, I played Terraria with Starscream, who had a Kindle Fire Tablet. The game came free on that device. We played all the time, and we even beat the Wall of Flesh! Cut to two years later, I bought the PS4 version, which I hated, since I couldn't zoom in the camera to see better. Anyways, I bought the PC version of Terraria a week ago on Steam, and I'm loving Journey's End.

My first day of Terraria involved running around fighting slimes. I didn't know what to do, and when night came, I dug myself into a hole and I let the guide get massacred by the zombies above. I decided to build myself a house, and guess what, the guide came back and stole my house! Long story short, I was confused, but amused.

TLDR: Me play Terraria, Terraria good game

I don’t quite remember, I think my older brother’s friend introduced us, then on console in 1.2 I think I was 11 my friend and I started a world called my friend’s name and zane, zane isn’t my name, (didn’t want to include friend’s name, and the house was horrible, I didn’t even know how to swap the cursor, and it wasn’t a box. I then accidentally deleted the world, and heck I am thankful I did, cause in the new one, named the same, I figured out how to swap cursor, and now, I beat moonlord on that world. I honestly don’t know what made me fall I. Love with the game until chippy’s 1.0 and 1.1 video, I just love how everything evolves, and everything relays on your character’s stats, you make the world what you make it, its your adventure.

Well it was year like 2012 or 2013 and some of my classmates and my cousin played this game, then year or two forward, my dad bought and installed terraria, but he did not got impressed, then (i promise this is the last "then") we all forgot the game until November of last year, i just got bored on waiting for release of MC 1.16 (its not even now) and i started searching in my game list on steam what i have shared with my dad (not all games is his) and i found terraria and then i remembered the game what my classmates played and how my dad once play it on PC, so i installed it and played it for first time.

First day of my terraria adventure was just classic first day of terraria newbie: chopped some trees tried to build a house (without success it came out with a small room full of crafting stations) got some first achievments of game (timber, no hobo, ooh shiny) and i liked it, i thought "its really better than minecraft, so many blocks, tools, and weapons" so that is my first terraria experience.
if my english is bad, i am sorry

Me and my friend were tired of minecraft and then he suggested we should try Terraria. It was version 1.1 at the time and we absolutely loved it. The amount of cool mobs and interesting caverns generation is what got me into playing terraria for years

I started on Xbox 360 in 2015 I really don’t really remember the first day in my first terraria world but I do remember how I got to know about the game. I think some kid in my class was playing it and he told everyone about it and I had been playing minecraft a lot and I decided to see what it was, so I got the demo and I guess I loved it.

Sooo, I was in the App Store and was like, HECK! I’m BORED! All of the updates in Minecraft are so SLOW! So i watched yt vids by this dude (I forgot his name) who made updates for Minecraft like mods and stuff, he said he liked a game called “Terraria”. I looked it up, was like, “Damn! This costs MONEY!” And sooo, yeah. I bought it. I caved. My first day was: 1. Get used to controls. 2. Meet terrifying demon eyes, bouncy squishy slimes, and zombies covered in blood. 3. Find whatever this biome is called that spawned a bunch of “Antlion Chargers” which killed me MULTIPLE times. I killed a lot of em though especially since I had my baby slime from the slime staff! 4. Realize that I’m not supposed to interact with a workbench and it’s a passive crafting station. 5. Have as much fun as possible! What made me LOVE the game was the retro graphics, how smoothly it ran, and the MUSIC! It’s AMAZING! Perfectly ORIGINAL nothing like it music! I’m in love.:dryadpassionate:

My story is super long & exciting to me, but I don't know if it'd be to other readers so... I'll make it short by dividing it into parts.

Part A (How was your fist day of Terraria?):
  1. I simply came into the game & decided I wanted to be a Mage, before I even knew what to expect.
  2. ...bought all the vanity items I could find from the Traveling Merchant just to fit the role, before I even knew about other armors.
  3. ...because my compadres were 'meta-gamers', I got to skip a bunch of tiers & get right to the good stuff, like Water bolt!
  4. I went crazy with Water Bolt & farmed all the tough, pre-Hardmode enemies for an absurd amount of time & gold.
  5. Finally fought the Eye of Cthulhu & realized I had a looong way to go, I was now invested (didn't even cut down any trees yet).
Part B (What made you love the game?):
  1. Our first epic, yet difficult Dungeon raid, Terraria sank it's lovely hooks into me once I saw it was a Gamer's-Game & not just some casual Minecraft Clone!
  2. My fickle compadres who typically own like, 50 games at a time, with low attention spans forced me to explore other options, I came across Servers, I was in love afterward!
  3. I got to see the LARGE gap in power, fighting alongside veterans with some of the best gear in the game, they tossed me Platinum Coins like it was nothing...
  4. Since I had access to so much stuff, so early, I decided to get involved in the PvP scene, I feel in love with Terraria even more afterward!
  5. ...by the time my compadres got over being flaky dum-dum heads people, I had surpassed them in every possible way. I was now leading the charge!
There's more, but I'm not gonna sit here & write a novel that nobody's gonna read. I love this game like it's my second girlfriend (LoL)! 😆🍹

My parents originally bought me the game on xbox 360 because they knew I liked minecraft (ahhh classic parents thinking minecraft and terraria are the same)
and I played it once then left it in a box for about two years. I played it again one day when i was bored and realised how awesome it was, even though my first day consisted of exploring the crimson (i just thought the red trees were pretty) then building a house underground with wooden platforms as a roof which meant I got killed by zombies many many times. For the first week I played, I didn't even know any crafting recipes until I unearthed a terraria survival handbook from the bottom of my bookshelf. Then I figured some stuff out and went on a trip to the underworld. I finally beat the EoC with a fiery greatsword and an imp staff and was so excited until I realised that he's supposed to be a simple boss ;( But now I have terraria on PC and I've beaten the eye of cthulu 17 times in a single night (i ran out of suspicous looking eyes :() so I've overcome those initial barriers and am now fully addicted.

My cousin played it in 2013 and thinking my cousin was the coolest person on earth when I was younger I got it liked it my friend played it and played it ever since

And on my first day dug straight down at spawn and was stuck in an infinite loop into lava

I'm pretty sure I started on the 360 but at that point I never fought bosses (I did make the mistakes of going down the dungeon without beating skeletron and accidently summoning skeletron)

soon enough I got the PC and PS3 version and had a blast (currently hardmode on PS3)

First day? Don't quite remember that. I know in the beginning I died, a LOT! I remember saying to myself while trying to build "Does this ever stop?" in reference to the monsters. Chances are they were weak spawns and I just sucked. Fast forward to today I find myself desiring fast spawn rates and getting impatient when targets are scarce. Sometimes I even choose to build things in dangerous regions for a challenge. Kind of ironic to put things in perspective.

I know I liked all other aspects right off the bat. Big fan of platform games done right. There's a ton of platform games, especially going way back to NES, and most of them suck. Terraria did it right. Throw in the crafting, mining, and very large quantity of different monsters and items and this was a game for me.

Above all though what gets me to say the words "I do" (No we are not in a monogamous relationship I'm married to other games too) is that it is one of the purest Sandbox games out there.

2015 or 2016...
Built a wooden box house on the tablet I'm writing this on.
Repeated it numerous times, for some reason.
I remember naming myself "water" and making my character blue.
Switched characters every month, putting everything in a chest.

Honestly? I’m not so sure. My brother introduced me to the game, and I enjoyed playing with him. We were both really bad, we had no idea what we were doing. I don’t even remember what the first day was like.
I wouldn’t say I ”love” terraria because I really don’t (sorry!). But I mostly cherish the times my brother and I would play the game and simply enjoy playing together.

Played on xbox 360 and I was reeeeaaallllyyy bad. I did a wooden box with no background walls and died to a slime too many times.

i still remember back in 2011, my nephew showed me the game on PC, i dunno what it was, but i instantly became enamored with the game.

i enjoyed watching him play it for awhile, but after that it just kinda remained in the back of my mind, and i forgot about it for the most part cause i didn't expect to ever be able to play it, myself.

but then in 2013, while looking around the playstation store, i saw the game and immediately became excited and bought it without hesitation.

i still remember my first world, i actually still have it, having carried it over to the ps4 version.

but i created a small world to start with, and spawned in a rather unfortunate location for someone who was unfamiliar with the game.

cliff to the left, with a massive drop into a pit, and a big mountain to the right, with a cave leading into the depths of the world.

so i built a house+tower combo on the cliff, and basically just created my own personal tunnel system throughout the mountain/cliff.

i had hours of fun just digging around like a mole, doing nothing in particular... the game just had a natural charm that drew me in. :dryadhappy:

i thought it would be like minecraft so i played it like how i played minecraft, cus i was like, so young and then i did random stuff for days (mostly dying) until i died enough to know what i was doing and yeah... also me and my brother took weeks tryna find creative mode until... we found out that there was no creative mode and yeah... life started forming into beautiful days of playing terraria (look at my profile pic, it goes with the story).
