Switch 2 How well Terraria runs on Switch 2?

Anyone tried their Terraria Switch on Switch 2? How much it improves?

I don't own the device, but from what I've seen, it has better hardware than most phones. It should be able to run Terraria perfectly fine, as long as there aren't any optimization problems with the game itself.

I took Terraria for a quick spin on my Switch 2 back when I 1st got it. Overall it runs smooth. I don't remember how it performed on the original Switch, but I have confirmed a majority of my Switch games run far more smoothly on Switch 2 compared to how they ran on Switch 1. It proves to be the same case for Terraria. I'll need to play around with it more to get a better feel when it comes to things like boss battles and invasion/pumpkin moon events.

It is worth noting that it would need to be updated specifically to be a Switch 2 Edition in order for mouse mode to work on it (which it could benefit from). There are no plans for a Switch 2 update/edition at this time. If that changes in the future, it will most likely be shared in a future State of the Game announcement from the developers. All I can confirm is that Terraria indeed still runs properly on Switch 2 and can be played the same way as Switch 1.

I will test if its possible to map the GL/GR buttons on the pro controller to some of the gamepad functions at a later time.

On Switch 1, riding on the Mechanical Cart at full speed underground went fast enough that you could see the lighting engine struggle to keep up with you
On Switch 2, no amount of speed has caused any hiccups whatsoever, it's absolutely seamless

I hope it allows a further zoom out. Switch 1 has a low zoom out, which it will be a problem to showcase any building projects I may want to showcase in the future.

As of right now it unfortunately doesn't. It also is unfortunately still locked to 720p in handheld mode, so it looks a little bit fuzzy with the upscaling. I'm hoping that even if it can't get mouse controls yet, Switch 2 can at least support higher resolution output modes, especially for handheld!

Terraria Switch 2 has need 4K support from 1.3.5, though it needs a mouse support for some reason.

if they do release a switch 2 edition then there needs to be a cool cover
