How would I make a sword swing twice off of one click?

Title. I'm trying to create a weapon that will attack twice from one click, but with no autoswing. Is this possible?

I doubt it. Without an entirely new mod (or even with one), this seems very improbable. I may be wrong, though.

Actually, wouldn't this work if I used the same code that makes a gun fire multiple shots in succession (clockwork assault rifle)? Or does that only work for ranged weapons?

I honestly don't know. You could test it, but I am inexperienced in this type of work.
