Terrarian
- CONTEXT -
During my playthrough of Terraria Mobile there were many moments where the gameplay was at least "inconvenient" for me.
-
The touch screen controls of the game are very good, but there are specific maneuvers that are too complicated to perform with them.
Below I will list them and how I think they could be solved.
----------------------------------------
- BUILDING -
Building becomes much slower without a mouse. It's difficult to be precise with your fingers.
Additionally, building while moving your character becomes incredibly more complicated.
-
I've suggested a solution for this in the past:
It's a mobile and console-only tool that allows you to move the camera freely within a 50-block area from your character and build.
-
But this can be very complicated. So I have another suggestion: Arrow controls instead of analog ones to build.
With these it would be easier to build in straight lines, as with analog sticks it is easy to deviate and with fingers it is difficult to see.
----------------------------------------
- COMBAT -
The only thing that I found difficult in combat was attacking and jumping/flying at the same time.
I know we can use the analog sticks for this, but it's still difficult to do it accurately.
-
If there was an auto attack option it would be perfect.
Turning this option on and having your character attack the objectives while you just focus on movement would be cool.
----------------------------------------
- INVENTORY -
There are two things that bother me about the game's inventory and interface:
Discarding Items in the Trash & the inability to Turn off accessories informations.
-
To throw items into the trash, you have to drag them one by one to the corresponding slot.
This can be very tiresome, especially when you fill your inventory with trash very often.
-
I have already suggested a solution for this, a Quick-Trash option.
Clicking on the Trash Slot would activate this option and the slot in question would turn red to indicate this.
In this mode, clicking on items would instantly take them to the trash.
To deactivate Quick-Trash mode, simply click on the trash slot again.
-
The other thing was that you couldn't disable the accessory information.
I created the Shellphone and there's a lot of information on the screen.
On the PC version you can disable the ones you don't want, but on the mobile version I couldn't find a way to do that.
