PS4 I cant find the goblin tinkerer and its hardmode

I can't find the goblin tinkerer but its the start of hardmode and all I have is molten armour, nights edge, and some pre-hardmode charms so should I go looking for the goblin tinkerer or upgrade NY gear than go looking for him?
 
i'd go mining for hardmode ores, and you'll probably find him doing that
