Mercroakery uses ally switch with Hopstar, so it gets the defence drop and the Extrasebsory hit and Hopstar takes the hit. Hopstar continues useing echoed voice on Obstagoon. Embibian uses after you on Mercroakery so that it will be able to sucessfully use ally switch.
