Switch I have looked every where but dont know what this is.

I have v1.4.0.5.6 on Switch and I don't know what this is. I looked at PC terraria settings, and this option is not there. (this is an "option" on my settings page) I have a touch screen so I tried to see if i could touch it to go to it but it doesnt work (i tried to see if i can go on it normally). at first i thought that this was something about a key board and mouse, so i plugged mine into my dock and the option didn't let me access it. i just wanna know what it is.

That would be setting for Keyboard and mouse bindings, but due to the lack of support for being able to plug in a keyboard and mouse into a switch the option is just straight up unavailable for you.

hOwever, keyboards can be used for the in-game chat. it’s very helpful especially for things like color codes

you can alter the color of text in announcements or chat by typing [c/XXXXXX:Y],
where XXXXXX is a hex code and Y is the message you want to be colored.
For instance,
[c/34C9EB:This Text Is Blue]
will output:
This Text Is Blue
