Keeping it brief, I've been thinking about various things to add to fishing as a whole to improve on it so why not an armor set? I sure don't remember anything like this being brought up so why not?
= Megalodon Armor =
Megalodon Cranium (melee) [8 fishron scales + 14 depth algae] - 20 defense, +20% melee damage
Megalodon Fins (ranged) [8 fishron scales + 14 depth algae] - 14 defense, +20% ranged critical strike chance
Megalodon Visage (mage) [8 fishron scales + 14 depth algae] - 8 defense, +15% magic damage, +100 mana
Megalodon Crown (summoner) [8 fishron scales + 14 depth algae] - 6 defense, +15% summon damage, +2 minion slots
Megalodon Chestplate [14 fishron scales + 20 depth algae] - 18 defense, +10% damage, 5% critical strike chance
Megalodon Leggings [12 fishron scales + 16 depth algae] - 12 defense, +8% damage, +15% movement speed
Set bonuses (general): greatly increased health regeneration when wet [+2hp/s]
(Melee): can dash a short distance [doubled distance when underwater/in rain]
(Ranged): occasionally fires sharknado sharks when using ranged weapons
(Mage): a protective bubble reduces damage from projectiles
(Summoner): whips mark enemies hit, sprouting damaging bubbles from minion attacks
Fishron scales drop from Duke Fishron at random (15 ~ 20 per kill). Depth algae can be fished at the ocean during hardmode (rarely) from both direct catches and seaside crates
I wanted this to be a Duke thing specifically because even though he's tiered for post Golem in terms of difficulty, he can still be fought immediately into hardmode, which would give skilled players even more of an incentive/reward to progression skip. I also want post Golem armor variety outside OOA sets without making them direct upgrades

IMO a armor for a boss that can be killed pre mech is just basically making most of hardmode armors obsolete I’d say the scales should be post golem from fishronKeeping it brief, I've been thinking about various things to add to fishing as a whole to improve on it so why not an armor set? I do like the armor and it would improve variety

The idea there is allowing experienced players to enjoy a progression skip [which is why Duke can still be fought so early], leaving it up to them on whether they want to do it or not. It still involves fishing, which most of the community seems allergic to, and if you can get the weapons, I don't see why you couldn't get the armor tooIMO a armor for a boss that can be killed pre mech is just basically making most of hardmode armors obsolete I’d say the scales should be post golem from fishron

You don't know how true that is. Anyways, really cool idea. We need more bosses that drop armour setsIt still involves fishing, which most of the community seems allergic to,

i want to say that this is surprisingly well balanced, hats off. just more offensive chlorophyte armor with decent but not great defense still, however i don't in any way see this better than spectre/beetle/spooky or tiki armor... which is even better balancing because you can fight fishron quite early, ranged users would enjoy having an actual setbonus now though

The Axe
I think the mage set bonus is too powerful. It needs a chargeup like solar armor and when hit it resets. Not able to block insta-kill attacks.
Edit: other than that, I approve.

Duke Fishron
I don't think an armor set from Duke Fishron is necessary. His weapons are already some of the best in the game in their respective categories (except Tempest Staff), and his wings and Expert mount are top tier as well. What further reward do you need if you beat him early?
