This stuff is great! One suggestion: fishing poles made of the standard metals, and maybe even hardmode metals. Also, did you ever think of fishing pole modifiers?

For standard metals, there isn't enough room to make it worth adding. And a Golden Fishing Pole exists already.

For Hardmode metals, it would be hard to create any kind of progression given how random the progression already is.
Also, did you ever think of fishing pole modifiers?
The only thing that would have any effect if modified is its power, and that would mostly just cause frustration.

That's actually an intruiguing idea, but it seems a bit out of place as a drop from such a powerful boss. :p
 
I like it! I hate smashing all the beautiful background scenery in my world just for a few damn worms! A new way to get different kinds of bait would be much better!
 
I really like this! Especially the fishing gear.

One part that bugs me is the finding bait in blocks. With most pickaxes, you’ll kill the spawned critter almost immediately when mining. Unless they drop as items that is.

The way it works now, I think, is that critters get a second or two of immunity right after they spawn. I've noticed it with worms popping out of background objects. Still, it's true that a miner will have to be observant to notice critters popping out as they mine. Another incentive to use the Hunter Potion?
