I only now (albeit a month late) got the news that Otherworld has been cancelled, from a discussion in a Discord server.
Fair to say it had a lot to live up to, and it had a few problems on the way, so I’m not surprised that the game didn’t make it.
But why stop there?
Why not reuse the assets that were involved in Terraria: Otherworld?
Personally I would love to have that thing I saw about buildings pushing away the corruption, in the main game, and some other things.
These assets and such shouldn’t be put to waste - let’s reuse them for Terraria itself.
Though I understand Terraria is already st its true endgame with the Moon Lord, this doesn’t have to expand on the endgame.
Maybe we can even have an ‘alternate realm’ to our world that uses something like what’s been seen and used in Otherworld, and some other stuff to carry over to the main game.
Even add an Easter egg or something in Terraria to pay respects to Otherworld.
