If there was one game mechanic from another game you could add to terraria, what would it be?

SOUR LEMON

Terrarian
For me, it would be either an option to parry (with any weapon) or a dodge roll/evasion technique. SoC is not a roll because you bounce, which is dumb because eoc never bounced off of you…

This might be more complex than a simple mechanic, but the Command Block from Minecraft and all associated commands. Exclusively because it would allow you to recreate Hollow Knight in Terraria.

Minecraft’s various redstone components specifically blocks that interact with items (hoppers, droppers, dispensers, comparators) and signal strength related mechanics.

minecraft world generation that makes it an hour to scroll to the end. like an Extra large world size or something

EtG dodge roll
No competitors that haven't been said already

terraria becomes the metaverse/s

Farming. From pretty much any farming simulation game. 😎

Fishing from Ark.

I PROMISE TO YOU, ARK FISHING IS GOOD

Not considering actual balance or implementation, the rarity system from Borderlands in which items vary drastically based on rarity. Like, you get a weapon from a boss at the start of the game and it's weak, but you get it later in hardmode from the same boss and it's got a chance to be much stronger as a higher rarity.

Minecraft jumping.

The ability to upgrade old equipment to be more useful like in Core Keeper.

There are some dashing accessories in this game like the tabi. Also there are some ways to negate a hit like with the brain of confusion or stuff like that. Parrying would be cool tho.

Give telegraphs to enemies. All of them.

Movement closer to Hollow Knight’s. The player feels quite sluggish, even with wings. Being able to move like the Knight would probably be broken, but it would be so fun

This game has a serious lack of Pigeons. We have a have all these different critter but no pigeons... :(

Boring but realistic answer. I like the way ammunition is handled in MapleStory: projectiles come in packs, and once they are used up the item does not disappear, but remains in the inventory with a quantity of zero. They can then be refilled for a fee at any store. Notably, ammo is treated more like a secondary weapon in terms of rarity, and high-end ammo items were quite valuable in the early days because they were permanent.

dead cells attack regen

CoTL Hunger/Faith/Sickness system in a secret seed.
