If there was one game mechanic from another game you could add to terraria, what would it be?

boat clutch from minecraft. i just want a boat, but boat clutches would be cooler. no boat, just clutch
I mean, this game has cloud blocks that block fall damage if placed under you...

Catacombs, from elden ring. sounds weird but it maybe a few catacombs a world, find them while exploring a cave, some good early game loot and a mini boss. decently small, and would be fun challenge early game.

Consistent damage. If the weapon says 13 damage, you deal 13 damage. No RNG bull:red2:.

A quality system for food items, like in Stardew.

put monster hunter's partbreaking and physiology mechanics onto bosses (and maybe some stronger enemies), star rankings from the same series is a close second

Elemental/weapon weaknesses, like from Castlevania, like plantara taking more damage from melee and fire weapons.

This might be more complex than a simple mechanic, but the Command Block from Minecraft and all associated commands. Exclusively because it would allow you to recreate Hollow Knight in Terraria.
My thought was just Hollow Knight, but you are playing 5d Chess and have a much better solution.

BOATS!!!!!!!

Could you add a seed where you'll spawn in island and put a many sharks on the sea it will be fun

What game is that from?

I think bosses should despawn if they have been damaged to the point they are half health (except empress of light since there are people who spawn her when people are fighting or spawn her accidently) and if you die more than 3 times the boss will leave and the message when it leaves is the boss name left since your skill is having issues or boss name has seen you unfit to fight and has left

I’d love a way to change individual coloured areas in vanity items, perhaps giving dressers more function - there’s a similar idea in No Man’s Sky

if we got charged for our crimes in terraria in game we be low-key cooked since we often cause war crimes ingame

not sure if this counts, but foxes and/or axolotls from Minecraft

A system similar to Arcanas from Vampire Survivors or Abnormality pages from Library of Ruina where after each major progression unlock or new boss kill, you can select a permanent effect or rule change for the rest of the game.
