If you could expand any part(s) of Terraria, what would it be?

Probably a Terraria 2 idea, but a crossover with Math Evolve that adds the spaceship boss from level 10 would be AMAZING. Additionally, the space layer should be expanded; even if there's no new structures in space, it'd be nice to have more room to make space builds. (I might make a suggestion about this at some point.)

Here's the boss:

Early Hardmode desperately needs an improvement, all you do is mine for better ores and occasionally get shredded by a naturally spawning mechboss. I thankfully managed to skip this phase of the game completely
pre-1.3 worlds in mobile Terraria could give you the freaking Drax in underworld shadow chests, so you could easily cheese most of the mining-related aspects of the game up to Golem's Picksaw
but I do wish this section of the game was expanded (1.4 did add Queen Slime as an early hardmode boss, but idk how well it fits into the progression)

They could work on oceans in general. Right now, they're pretty small and not really noteworthy. Only times you ever really visit them are when you need something in a biome close to there (such as the Aether) and when you need to fight Duke Fishron.
Spirit mod oceans are awesome, it feels like a totally different biome.

Hollow Knight crossover:

Another evil biome consists of infected variants of normal enemies and two bosses: The Hollow Knight, and The Radiance.
Leafy enemies in the jungle
Some marble biomes are replaced with abyss biomes with unique loot and enemies

I'd love it if the Re-Logic Team would give some more love to certain melee weapons like phasesabers and the breaker blade to make the melee class a bit more diverse in its options.

I'd also like an extension to the ocean and a desert-exclusive boss, and maybe an extension to the granite and marble mini-biomes (especially marble) to make them more worthwhile to explore.
I agree
Id also like if after the moon lord you'd be able to have more minor bosses that drop cool cosmetics to help you build your world to look better so you have something to do. That would give you another reason to beat the game.

I would love for there to be a use for prehard mode bosses in hardmode. For example in hardmode the eye of cthulu would be more like the eye of cthulu in master mode but a little bit more difficult. And maybe there could be a weapon, material, or equip that is useful to hardmode. Also make things like slimes and zombies more difficult in hardmode.

more things for space and sky, after pre-boss you never go back except for wyverns and martian probes
also a lot more non-combat content plantera and onwards + reasons to visit biomes that aren't the dungeon or jungle at that point

more post moonlord content i like him as a final boss but after killing him it gets painfully boring especially for a sandbox game
also recoil and more minigames

the desert

we need a vanilla desert boss

As a builder, I like compact tools that perform multiple functions with one inventory slot, like the Shell Phone, Super Absorbent Sponge, or the Grand Design. I personally would like to see a combination of either the paint tools, or the bottomless buckets, as many builders would probably like the extra inventory space, without worrying about four different buckets.

Expand the progression and make us scour the world for stuff like summon item ingredients.I want an actual reason to find marble and granite caves

I feel like personally THE WORLD IS MY BEEF WITH THE GAME

Hear me out on this….

I want the world gen to be LARGE that stretches out into the distance and I feel like this could give more room for ideas and biomes and structures

I also feel that the ocean could also be home to islands which have their own biomes and loot pools and also I feel like it would be too much like minecraft with the world gen so I decided to make THE LAND YOU SPAWN IN the MAINLAND

The other islands you map out and find for more bosses and loot AND also duke could be fought on the open SEA (which I feel WOULD BE SICKKKKKKK) and a lot of things could be altered to be fitting the OPEN WORLD like the EoC could be fought in the air alongside EoL and BoC and EoW i also feel that king slime could have his own altar in the game too with a special place for him :)

Just the feel of a open world would make the game FAR more immersive and better alongside the OG pixel art style

I feel that some people would like certain filters to the game that aren’t locked behind loot pools or items

Like a ROUNDED filter that made everything a slight bit less blocky and more realistic (but keeping it PG-13)

AND ALSO a retro look for our OG people that makes the game looks like the gameboy art style

AND BOATS COULD BE A GREAT ADDITION TO THE GAME for water exploration and decor~

Plus rn the game is quite limited on what you CAN do B4 moonlord

So make a “creative” mode to make building accessible AND ALSO MOBS AND WEAPONS

And I also agree with FLAT WORLD GENERATION

Feel free to comment on the ideas and EXPAND on them :)

maybe a little more between plantera to golem to cultist. it just feels as though hardmode is
preboss
mechs (beat all of them)
plantera
cultist
end

in terms of how long it really lasts. actually i would argue that unless you go after some of the side bosses before golem the progression is extremely rapid from mech bosses to golem. i wanna have more stuff to use my new weapons on!

More bosses like post-moonlord bosses

No game is forever. Replayable, yes, but not endless content.
I don't really think Terraria needs more gameplay in terms of yet another hard hurdle of fights to conquer, but it does deserve more reasons to space out your progress.

Generally the whole period of the game between your 3rd mech boss to Lunatic Cultist deserves more reasons to slow down, because it's so easy to beat Plantera, go to Golem, then go straight to the Lunatic Cultist... Which skips so much content and rushes ahead. I think it's too easy to get major upgrades at that stage in the game, so many drops with really cool effects go unused because they fall behind and become rapidly outclassed.

Some kind of mechanic that expands the viability of weapons is what I'd go with. Something that makes early weapons compete more with later weapons, such as a kind of damage scaling. Of course this is a huge undertaking, and I've seen Terraria's code, it wouldn't be an easy or pretty fix to implement, but it sure does suck having so many options, and too few reasons to use them all.

I think it would be cool if they most biomes another reason to come back in hardmode. Like how the dungeon makes you want to come back after Plantera has been killed. An example would be that killing the mechs will make new creatures spawn in the ocean. Killing those creatures will allow you to craft an armor set that buffes all classes with a set bonus. The set bonus will improve all of your stats whenever in water, and shortly leaving the water. Another thing could be that the post golem marble/granite biome start spawning in new enemies that drop a new crowd control weapons for pillars prep. These ideas may not be good, but just something that gives a player to revisit biomes in a later point would be cool.

The sky, Earlier I was thinking of what if when you get into hardmode instead of hallow spawning on the surface it spawns in the sky with some sort of sky construct which would then spread it onto the surface
