You don't have to kill him, but with it you could torture him like how you could damage him if equipped.

For personal use I would go with rod of discord. But I am worried on the cool down as if you use it too fast your body materialises incorrectly and I can’t heal in a few seconds like the game character.

A second pick would be the bottomless lava bucket. It provides infinite heat and energy it could be used to replace A power plant. The lava after it cools down provides easy to transport building materials.
Just never tip it over and leave it upside down or it will flood the earth in magma till the new crust is above the level of the bucket. (people are worried about a few meters of water rising) imagine >50% of land under lava and all the oceans encased in obsidian and stone
