If you could make anything into secret seed, no matter how complex, what would it look like?

Most discussions on secret seeds come in the form of suggestions. These tend to fall flat due to being complicated and difficult for Relogic to implement and being unrealistic to hope for as actual official features. Thus, the discussion of them generally just turns into discussions of whether Relogic would actually want to spend developer resources implementing them. For this thread, I wanted to explore these ideas in a place that isn't focused around critiquing them from a game design perspective or analyzing their meta plausibility but instead simply talking about them and sharing ideas without regard for realism.

To throw my own hat into the ring to start this thread, I think something inspired by Mario Galaxy or that old gravity mod for Minecraft would be interesting. The world is generated in large circles of different biomes and important structures instead of all as one big chunk, and rather than just jumping around them normally, you're pulled towards blocks based on proximity with dynamic gravity and orientation that reflects that. To work with these mechanics, each 'planet' would have a solid core of blocks to walk around, maybe of a special type that's considered extra dense for gravity calculations and can't be broken until late game, so as to prevent gravity getting awkward when in the center of a 'planet' surrounded by roughly equal blocks on all sides. It wouldn't be too far off from skyblock, but it'd have a lot of interesting distinctions and unique mechanics that I think would be very fun to play around.

Seed Code: CurrentObjectiveSurvive

The entire map is now desert with a constant sandstorm. Miscellaneous tombstones can be found and periodically throughout the playthrough Martian Invasions will happen throughout the world (not just centered at Spawn).

When you die, the kill text on the center of the screen will now be;

"Missing in Action"

The death text in the chat log will now be;

"Your body, your armor - all burned and turned to glass. Everything... except your courage. That, you gave to us. And with it, we can rebuild."

Flip the world 180 degrees. Simple, yet impactful.

I would love to see a "classless" seed. Everything just deals "damage" and everything that boosts one specific type of damage is just a generic all damage boost instead. Everything gets boosted equally by a Warrior Emblem, Avenger Emblem gets to feel inadequate, etc.

Anything that activates off a specific type of damage, such as Spectre Hood's healing, would always activate regardless of the weapon type used.

It'd be pretty fun being able to do anything you want. Imagine using Shroomite Stealth on a magic user or getting Beetle Might while using a Chain Gun.

I'd dare call it broken, but it'd be in a fun way. Maybe enemy HP could be raised slightly to compensate, maybe not. Just something silly and fun instead of worrying about making the game harder.

I think this is a bit too small of an addition to warrant being an entire seed over. Then again, this thread is about random, cool, funny seed ideas.

Compared to even Celebrationmk10 it's pretty small, yeah, but it'd be such a fundamental change to how the game is approached that I feel it'd fit right in with world options.

As a roguelike fan, toying with the insane combinations you could make this way sounds like a blast. Plus now every class can use the Zenith. At last, Relogic can beat the 'only cares about melee' allegations.

What is a roguelike exactly?

Every enemy is the Destroyer, with stats changed like size, speed, health, hp, and probe count for balanced depending on the enemy.

What if secret seed where your weapons are useless and the NPC weapons progress at reasonable rate, and you have to make them follow you around Pikmin style

Terraria but it's an RTS game kinda like pikmin, instead of spawning into the world you're just a cursor that can scroll around, you can click NPCs and give them orders like 'dig in this direction' or 'cut nearby trees' or 'build wooden house in suitable location'--
WHAT

How did someone just say almost the same idea as me while I was typing this

Roguelike is a genre of game defined by permadeath and procedurally generated levels and loot. They're known for having complex synergies between items you can find and typically have an emphasis on risk vs reward and general decision making throughout the run. Classic examples include The Binding of Isaac and Enter the Gungeon.

I like the idea of a secret seed where the only difference is that the world generates with a ton of tunnels throughout all of the generation.
It would change gameplay by making early-game mobility strategies far more important to learn, such as how to use platforms, ropes, and grappling hooks while falling.
It'd also just look dang cool.

The idea is generally that the entire world generates as normal, but the generation after that then has an additional layer to it, causing massive tunnels to appear in all directions, similar to minecart holes, but far worse. It'd make the world seem like it's been eaten by worms. I got this idea from playing Noita and thinking about how the large worms in that game tunnel through and eat most materials, like tunnel bore drills.

Your idea is different, in mine it's closer to Pokemon Quest where you control your character the normal way and the NPCs follow you around and attack automatically. I also love the idea of it being an RTS game though... HMU if you want to start a thread where we just brainstorm concepts for Terraria as an RTS game!

It’s kind of a cliche, regularly suggested secret seed, but the first idea that popped into my head was a backwards progression seed. It will never happen because it would require changing the stats, attacks, and behavior of every item, enemy, and boss in the game, along with adjusting crafting recipes, but it could be really interesting.

The world would start out with the Hallow as the evil biome, you would only find Hardmode ores underground, only Hardmode enemies would spawn, and the Princess would be the starting NPC instead of the Guide. Then, for bosses, the Moon Lord would be the first and easiest (he would probably remain stationary while swiping his hands at the player), the Empress of Light would take the place of the EoW/BoC, with you breaking three Prismatic Chrysalises to summon her, and the Lunatic Cultist would take the place of Skeletron. Then, later on after defeating the WoF, the Corruption or Crimson would spawn into the world, you would break Hallowed Alters to spawn Pre-Hardmode Ores, the EoW/BoC would take the place of Empress as the difficult bullet hell boss, and the Eye of Cthulhu would be the final boss.

and the copper Shortsword is the most powerful weapon in the game also cobalt is the most powerful PHM armour. (where do the mechs fit in? PHM?)

Yep, and the Zenith is the weakest while still requiring all the swords in it’s recipe.
(where do the mechs fit in? PHM?)
The mechs would be before the Wall of Flesh. I think having some bosses sorta swap roles in progression would be cool but because Hardmode is longer the Pre-Hardmode some bosses like the Mechs and Golem just won’t have counterparts.

queen bee larvae doesnt generate naturally and its spawner requires a "iron anvil" (IDEA: you start with luminite gear but its weak as :red:)

Cityworld Seed

Possible inputs to get this seed:
cityworld, urban, urbanworld, townie.

You spawn in an world filled with exclusive structures known as cities (which are like larger versions of towns) and most of the NPCs have already moved in by that point. However, to make them move to your house, you'd have to befriend them. There's several tasks you'd have to do in your generated city to progress the game, and bosses can only spawn once their corresponding task is completed. The starting NPC is the seed-exclusive Mayor, who you would have to conversate with to initiate each task.

Resources that you can use (since most of the areas are urbanized) are quite limited and you have to plan ahead before making your next move. The world is also the second one to have both evil biomes like the Drunk World seed, though you only start with the biome you selected pre-hardmode while the other one is generated upon the start of hardmode alongside the Hallow. There's also a seed-unique debuff that can effect NPCs and you if you were to spend a long enough while in the evil biomes or the hallow (with corresponding variants for each), with the Hallow variant causing your NPCs to move to the Hallow if you don't remove said Debuff fast enough, while they can die from the Crimson or Corruption infection.

There's also a new event known as City Conflicts, in which a nearby city to yours invades yours if there's rising conflict for a variety of reasons (e.g. you entered the city just to loot, the evil biome(s) had infested into their territory, or small random chance). At the start of the seed you can name your city and the other cities in the world are generated.

(I do not care if this is quite complicated or even impossible to code, or quite difficult for some players and quite easy for others given you get a free house here while having stricter limits on what you can do here. I think it's a fun idea)

"Reverse"

Play the game backwards, starting with moon lord and ending with king slime. Progression is reversed as well, all the hardmode weapons are bad, while pre-hard mode weapons are top-tier. Plantera kicks off "hard mode" and grants access to the dungeon, defeating skeletron grants access to the post-plantera dungeon (scaling doesn't change there, still great loot)
