Hey! My name's Ignis, you've probably seen me around Game Suggestions or Roleplays; but I'm also an avid musician specialising in VGM-style music, mixed in with a bit of retro chiptune and hard rock.

I use JummBox, a mod by Jummbus of the original BeepBox created by John Nesky.
There are also various other mods of BeepBox that can be found in UltraBox's Credits; a mod that utilises several features from several other mods, including JummBox. I will warn you though, many of the mods like Ultra, Gold and Cardboard utilise features that can cause heavy lag on less powerful systems, but if you have the resources for it, these mods introduce features that JummBox is missing, including audio visualisation and audio sampling. I'd recommend using a mod over the original BeepBox, as BB itself has limited capabilities and is mostly discontinued regarding updates.

A .html file labelled "Ignis JB Instruments" can be found in the Google Drive; you can import it into JummBox by using the File menu to try out the instruments I use.

You can find all my music (W.I.Ps and finished results!) in the link below, it's updated whenever I make progress on or finish something!

If you're looking to get into professional music production, I'd look into getting software like LMMS, ProTools, Soundtrap (for PC) or GarageBand (for Mac). Alternatively, you can use a BeepBox mod for the majority of your composition, and find sampled SFX online. You can then download Audacity (free on all platforms), drop in the main song file along with all your SFX, then export as a whole file after editing. Audacity can also be useful as a final edit software; I've used it previously to mix my songs and to change around volume where necessary.

Another point is that because of the way BeepBox and its mods work, their MIDI capabilities are limited, and generally don't work well. I'd recommend GarageBand or Signal for MIDI, then using Audacity to splice it with other instruments from, say, a BeepBox mod.

If you're looking to share your music, you can make a music thread on these forums (like me!), and you could make a YouTube account (free!). There are free record labels for Spotify, but most are a bit dodgy. I'd recommend against them.

These sound fantastic! I've only listened to a couple so far. My favorite right now is Acidic, hands down. I plan on listening to it again during a bossfight.
Resolute was my assessment piece this year and i'm planning on extending it to a 3-minute full track (we had a 2 minute limit for our assessment)
Phantom took me aaaaaaaaaaaages and i'm really happy with the result
i love interference but it's way too cluttered, i'm hoping Transmission will turn out better as a sequel to it (heavy w.i.p >.>)

oh, Brutal Misfortune is a wip and part of a trade thing i'm doing with Orchamut, i'm really happy with how it's coming along
it took me like 4 hours to figure out the final chord in Scram, Ye Scallywag!'s progression

2 questions:
1. what instruments do you use in Jummbox?
2. Can you make a boss theme for me (as in a boss theme that plays if you fight my character?) my pfp is attached below if you need it if you decide to make me a boss theme, i kinda want an energetic theme that just screams "oh :red: im screwed" basically. (if you decide to make it)

1. i will upload a html file for the empty instruments project to the google drive sometime later today (i'll notify anyone watching the thread)
2. maybe another time, i got a bit of stuff to do, but definitely will get to it when i can

UPDATE: The .html file for my instruments has been uploaded to the Google Drive. It'll be listed as "Ignis JB Instruments.html" in the Drive, simply download it and import it into JummBox under the File menu to try out my instruments!
These instruments are specifically designed to work in conjunction with each other in several different genres, styles and settings, and are highly customised to fit my composing process.

UPDATE 2: Added some info on BeepBox's various mods to help people start out. Will also put some more info on using other software.
