Sprites Improving and Expanding on the Slime Rain!

Hey everybody, Phoenixblade here, back with another suggestion! This one's a bit of a small one, and I hope you enjoy! As usual, I'd appreciate any comments, criticisms, suggestions, and support! Also, if you happen to have a more fleshed out, similar idea, please let me know!

Well, let's get started with the main Vanilla Edit in this suggestion:
Vanilla Edit
- Depending on which biome you're in, certain slimes spawn. In my opinion, it's kind of bland to just have blue, green, and purple slimes (Oh yeah, Pinkies too) spawn wherever you are. So, this'd be the vanilla list of slimes spawning during the Slime Rain:
Forest/Purity
-
Blue, Green, Purple slimes and Pinky (now known as regular slimes for ease of reading and writing)
- Umbrella Slimes (if raining)
- Hoppin' Jack (Hardmode, Halloween, only at night)

Desert:
- Regular Slimes
- Sand Slime

Snow Biome:
- Regular Slimes
- Ice Slime
- Spiked Ice Slime (Expert only)

Jungle:
- Regular Slimes
- Jungle Slime
- Spiked Jungle Slime (Expert Only)

Corruption:
-
Regular Slimes
- Corrupt Slime (Hardmode Only)
- Slimer (Hardmode Only)

Crimson:
- Regular Slimes
- Crimslime (Hardmode Only)

Hallow:
- Regular Slimes
- Illuminant Slime (Hardmode. Yes, it does spawn on the surface, I thought it would be a challenge :p)


Now, here's another spin on the idea. Since the Slime Rain is a special event, why not have custom enemies spawn (again, depending on biome)? So, I present to you, my ideas for custom Slime Rain enemies. I don't have any ideas for hardmode slimes as of now, so please suggest ideas if you have any!

Living Wood Slime.png

50 HP
4 Defense
Spawns in the Purity Biome Prehardmode, as commonly as the Purple Slime does.

And Gel, of course. That'll go without saying to avoid being repetitive :D

13 Summon Damage
Costs 11 Mana
Summons a stationary Ice Slime Sentry that shoots ice spikes at enemies, which has a 10% chance to afflict the Frostburn debuff on enemies! It also fills the stationary mob niche for early hardmode.

Could the purity slime also drop the Living Loom as well?
I think the Zombie Slime should look different, like a Blue Slime, but with a Zombie sticking out of it.
Good idea, I'll change that. And yeah, that was my idea for the Zombie Slime earlier. I just didn't have time to sprite it :p
 
The sprites look good, but the problem is that during an event like a slime rain, you usually stay roughly in the same place, killing slimes that spawn left and right of you (at least, that's what I do). So you're probably only ever going to see one of the biome specific slimes each time there's a slime rain, since you're staying in the same biome the whole time. I'd rather have 4 or 5 slime rain exclusive slimes that spawn in any biome.
 
the crimson slime seems abusable, you would be an easy way of getting crimson armor early in the game...

You would still need an amount of Tissue Samples, I'll reduce the drop chance tho.

I find myself in a variety of places during slime rain, be it Fishing at the Ocean, exploring the Snow Biome, and more. Plus, this gives players the chance to go out and explore the slime rain, rather than stay in one place!
Also, maybe underground you could find a square slime, as a Minecraft reference?
Ah, but the slime rain is only a surface event. As soon as you hit underground, regular mobs spawn.

Also, added the Living Loom Drop to Purity Slimes and made the chance of getting Crimtane Ore lower from Crimtane Slimes!
 
I can't say I like ALL of these, but some of them are quite good! May favs are coconut slime and honey slime. Perhaps the latter should drop actual honey though, like lava slimes drop lava in expert mode.
