Items Infinite Variants for Every Ammo Type

We already have infinite ammo pouches, but they feel weak in late game. Stronger infinite pouches would encourage players to use higher-tier ammo that costs rare and more expensive materials.

For the cost of 3996 of an [ammo type], I suggest adding an infinite crafting pouch for that [ammo type].
Since these ammo types are very resource-heavy, a one-time craft into an infinite stack would be Fair in my opinion. It would also make ranged weapons more useful in hardmode, where you often run out of materials for stronger ammo.
If players could convert rare items such as Chlorophyte, Ichor, Pixie Dust, or Unicorn Horns into infinite ammo pouches once they collect enough, it would give long-term value to farming these materials instead of just moving on and sticking with what you get and the current option with the basic type pouches.

What coud also work is having these different ammos purchasable from the Arms Dealer. That would also be a simple way of being able to purcahse them only after you defeated certen bosses.
Either way, I think it would be a great opportunity to try more weapons that we might not normally use.

Note: I haven't use the forum before, so this is my 1st time. Hope I'm not late with the suggestions for 1.4.5... But hey better late then never :D ...Hope you all like this suggestion. I think will feel nice in game. Saw it on a video which used it as a mod.

The only reason the pouches exist is because it’s boring for rangers to not be able to do anything during a fight if they run out of bullets. The reason they haven’t made any other pouches is because although they are stronger bullets they are supposed to be limited and run out, the point of them is putting in a little extra work to get some more damage in, making infinite versions of them would completely eliminate the point of them being bullets and they would just be like any other melee or magic weapon. Pouches are just in case you run out of the special bullets mid fight, special bullets are not supposed to be an accessory, however I do like the idea of being able to purchase them — if they had a reasonable price that is, I imagine some stronger bullets like chlorophyte will have to be pretty expensive.

(Also unfortunately I think they’ve stopped taking in suggestions to focus on the update sorry)

If you could just make infinite ammo pouches of any type, players would always do that immediately as soon as they unlock a new ammo (because it would be more efficient in the long run), completely bypassing the entire point of a ranger by removing the ammo system completely. At least right now, while you CAN have an infinite ammo item, it is a weaker one than the later game ammos, motivating you to still use them despite being able to run out. If you really dont want to run out, just buy 9999, but at least doing so would require a high coin cost. The strongest ammos should not be infinite.

Now, while some sort of upgrade to the ammo pouch would be nice (such as this post here which you may like), it should importantly only increase the base damage and not have any of the other ammos' special effects. Again, using this infinite ammo item needs to be a tradeoff.

Thats actually a pretty good idea, upgrading your permanent bullets while still having a limited stronger supply would be pretty interesting

I completely agree. Special infinite ammo pouches don't work.

I have heard one good idea involving this.

The same way that default unlimited ammo is locked to hard mode, lock unlimited ammo to a point in progression significantly past its use range.

Such as having unlimited crystal bullets after, say, Golem.

I mean, some bullets like Ichor are useful the whole game, and it'd mess up consistency if there wasn't an infinite Ichor pouch. Best to avoid this all together.

I'm aware of ichor's power, which is why I didn't use cursed bullets as my example.

Fargo's Souls (or it might be Mutant) does this, and it's pretty broken. The purpose of infinite ammo is being too lazy to track better ammo or be a backup if it runs out.

Most ammo is already basically infinite due to how wildly easy to obtain nearly all of it is. I don't think adding infinite ammo is very needed but it wouldn't hurt anything.
...assuming bullets and arrows of course. Many of the insanely strong + hard to get ammos are actually used by weirder ranged weapons like star cannon or flamethrower (and yes, I do feel that gel is harder to get a sustainable amount of than chlorophyte bullets, that's how trivial bullets usually are)
Really, the only infinite bullet or arrow I could see saving a lot of time due to the ammo being more limited is an endless Jester Arrow quiver, and those arrows are quite early in the game and extremely anti-synergistic with almost every bow late in the game.
