Game Mechanics Infinite Worlds

Maybe there could be a world size of limitless. It could be better for just exploring and adventuring, there could be multiiple lands/islands, etc.

Supposedly the next version (whatever they end up calling it) will include infinite worlds. That isn't a minor thing, though, it would imply major changes to the game internals.

It's currently not possible for worlds to be infinite as terraria has a limited amount of ram and crashes if it exceeds it. Doing this would allow you to get probably about 3 world lengths farther than normal and then the game would crash.

I already experience lag in areas with lots of liquid and painted tiles, especially when it's raining in-game, so I'm not optimistic about the idea of an infinite world.

I'm not very excited about the idea of traveling infinite distances to get where I want to go, either.

I would personally like it better if the world looped instead of continuing forever, though I don't know for sure how that would work in this game.

"lands/islands" doesn't say squat, except that the world just keeps going, which we already know.
