INVISIBLE PAINT:

Description: "What's so special? It's just a paint bucket.
Sold by the painter during hardmode.

When you paint blocks with it, they turn invisible! That's it.

It also has a lot of good uses:
-Pretend your walking on air.
-Create barriers that people can't see.
-Have Crimson music in a Corruption area without music boxes laying around.
-Pretend that your walking on water or lava or honey.
-Create an unseeable skybridge.
-Have a house without any background walls.
-Prevent monsters from spawning in an area and have no walls.
-Have spiders climb on air!

Well, that's it for this simple suggestion. I will have more crazy blocks and items soon!.

Maybe Murph should make it so the blocks are translucent(50% visible) when you are holding blocks/paint tools/tools?

Great suggestion. To prevent 'trolling', X-Ray Glasses, with maybe some other boosts too, should become a new accessory. Or perhaps servers can just ban it.

Plot Twist: Painting something with Invisible Paint actually makes it look exactly the same.
(But for some reason, it weighs more and I can't touch the surface!!)

Anyways, could be cool. This would make for a lot of great pranks.

A couple more nifty uses for invisible paint:

Discrete lighting! When you just can't find a light that fits, hide it! Or, change the wall behind the hidden torch, or build something directly underneath it (like a bottle) for alternate lighting objects.

Hide the base of statues, so that they appear to be floating or hanging off the wall.

You've stumbled onto an amazingly amusing idea...

The Travelling Merchant sells invisible paint/ink, etc but in batches for a platinum, and they are what you think; consumed, doesn't change anything, however you can craft them with Torches, Souls of Sight miscellaneous to make Invisibility Torches. Their light reduces visibility of blocks around them according to distance, and for a special touch; wiring them up and flicking a switch makes the torches themselves as visible as a Wisp light pets after you put shadow dye on the.
