PC Is there a way to check others inventory joining game?

Not sure this is in the correct forum or not?

Ok possible issue. I typically host the games, but not a dedicated server, just multiplayer and host and play from intro screen and buddies join via steam friends.

Often when starting a new game there is this one guy that always has say gold gear or finds half a dozen gold chests before most people find 1 or 2. There has been suspicions he is brining in spelunker potions. We have caught him with wire cutters way before the dungeon on no traps taking out all the wires and selling them, cause leftover wires lying around.

So ya if I am hosting is there a way to check players gear coming into the game or is a dedicated server needed or not possible?

Your best bet is having them screenshot your inventory in vanilla, can't speak for modded but nobody rightfully would bother with that. I think your best shot is just not playing with people irritating you. No evidence doesn't matter either if everyone else also claims/says the same stuff about him. I think you could ask for him to screenshot his inventory once and then kick him from the group so you can use an inventory editor to keep every item that was in his inventory. This is sneaky but if he's the type of guy I think he is, he will just jump to the most important chest and take everything before going away for good. Good luck dealing with them.

last i remember the tshock server has the ability to lock each player's inventory server-side, similar to a minecraft world.

as i've had friends like this, i would just like to say that if you have suspicions on the legitimacy of this player's items, they'd probably have stacks of platinum hidden as well. you're going to have to establish some boundaries and draw some lines sooner or later, so it helps to know your options.
