Is there a way to play Terraria 1.0.0 ?

I was watching the earliest reviews of the game before it got to cluttered and complicated... I would like to play the first version if possible? I do own the game with all the current updates, of course...

Not without torrenting, as far as I know. Would be nice if the developers would put the old versions playable, for example, by using the steam integrated beta function.
