PC Issues Reloading Terraria After it Closes

I've been playing Terraria for quite some time and have always appreciated the fact that the map stays loaded in with every place that you have discovered. This allows for nice gameplay that you can keep relating back to previous adventures in the world. Unfortunately, my world's map keeps reverting to a black, undiscovered one every time my Terraria is entirely closed and reopened. Additionally, my achievements in the game have been strange and not always showing up when I earn them. I had one instance of my game uninstalling and me having to reinstall from a backup too. Not sure what that was about.

Are you using Steam Cloud saving?

There is a known issue with it deleting your map data, that we are looking into. You may be able to mitigate the issue for now by not using it, however.
