It wont let me start terraria

I click terraria's play button on steam it says its launching then it goes straight back to the play icon. I tried online tutorials to try to fix it and It lets me play other games but it terraria doesnt work
If you could help that would be wonderful.

Try verifying the integrity of the game files. Right click terraria, click properties, click local files, then click "verify integrity of games files"

I already tried that and it didn't work
