Yup. I designed the tv head and then realized that it was useable with literally anything, not just whatever outfit I attached to it, so I figured I needed to make the rest of the outfit just as versatile. I want to see people have their pool of potential vanity pieces expanded, because building your own outfits is always more fun than using a canned one~

True, true! It was something I only started to think more seriously about myself once a friend of mine I was talking with in the late stages of finishing my own entry mentioned it; two of the three vanity sets I picked was partly out of getting to share the same space with all of you (it's a pleasure, by the way, because you're one of them), but there were a couple things I felt could use being there, yeah?

Didn't the original post say that art is not required yet, some are seemingly picked due to the art? It's downright misleading! I went into keynote and made sub-par art just so I could put my idea across. Anyone could do that, yet they would be overlooked by the artists who deserve to get a vanity set just as much as we do. Now, I am not just salty that I didn't get in, I am still happy with some of these artists finalists. I just want to bring some attention to this.
Um, I think you might have that backwards - the original post says that art of some kind is required with each entry.
EDIT: Specifically, it says "All entries must include artwork of some kind." in the "How do I submit my entry?" section.

No I do not mean normal art to demonstrate the outfit. I mean the over-the-top formats and art that would go with it.

I'm not sure where you guys are seeing the problem in people putting effort into their submissions. The contest was about the most compatible and creative concepts, and while that doesn't necessitate a super high quality art piece, it does help a lot more to have detailed and comprehensible artwork to go along with your submission.

No matter how cool your concept may be, if your artwork can't sufficiently communicate why exactly your concept is cool and how it could be flexibly implemented into the game, then it will always be overlooked by a submission that communicates those things more clearly with a detailed format and artwork to go alongside. Besides, it's a competition; there's no reason for artists who are capable of doing so to not make a high quality showcase panel if they're taking the competition seriously and truly want their creation in the game. There is no "over-the-top" when it comes to that.
