Fair enough, alright? I get that I might not have interpreted the sarcasm in that statement, and I still wish the best for DisRicardo and everyone; it's more personal frustration, mainly towards myself, than anything else.

Took a couple #Edits as I had to figure out my exact feelings on that; I'm going to own up and say it's mostly me, though- I haven't been feeling the greatest throughout some of this, as you may be able to guess

My remark wasn't directed at you in particular, just a general statement that I don't think the tone that discussion had taken (before you responded) was one that was going to result in a productive, civil debate, no matter what the intentions had been of whoever got involved. I just feared that your response would elicit another response in turn, so that's why I intervened when I did. No hard feelings. :)

Alright, I understand. There's other things that I could say about my particular thoughts and how I've been doing, but that again I can spare unless anyone wants to hear it; fair enough?
 
My hope is that they decide to eventually hold more vanity contests. I know that the said that this is the final update but, you know, they said the same thing 5 years ago. And I know that they are running into technical limitations but I'm assuming that vanity outfits and furniture sets don't put too muck stress on on the engine. I could be wrong I guess.
Speaking of furniture sets I hope Relogic completes the Gothic set and the Christmas set because those have gone way too long as only 3 pieces a set.

I think this will be the last update. For one, it's literally called Journey's End. Also, I think they're working on Terraria 2 (at least I think), meaning it would be the perfect time to end.
 
I like the Floret Protector and the Fish Bowl suit. They both scream "Terraria". Maybe even the Timeless Traveler.

I personally think that discussion has taken the wrong tone even before I replied. Right around when the word "cringe" was introduced. And I'll gladly drop that subject. I just don't feel like letting people get away with free uncalled for straight up insults to any of the finalists, so I had to reply, even though, as clearly seen from my post, I didn't want to. No hard feelings, in realty I'm a very chilled dude ;)

Thank you so much! <3 I've designed what I would personally want to wear myself and it seems to have resonated with at least some people : D I'm currently rocking a dyed Cultist's mask with the Scarecrow bottoms, but I always felt like something was lacking for me in that attire so I've seriously elaborated on that look : D

Some think terraria alreyd have idle animation like With Arkhalis's Hood to have appearing and fading skull over time, but that one is made with simple sprite and magic of coding. Could be use for one part, but Arkhalis's set is unique but still simple and good/decend looking. I still stand behind my opinion that one is bad set to choose and it's animation is just overkill, ...

The point is the Timeless Traveler's set is SUPPOSED to stand out. Not because I'm that arrogant, but because it's literally "a tribute to people who will keep this game alive". Do we want something intimate like that to be dull? Also the complex animations only occur when the full set is worn. And yeah, I'm more then sure Re-Logic would be able to implement the suggested mechanics or put their own unique spin on them since they've selected the entry. And also nobody is going to persuade my the set doesn't match the game's aesthetics, but if you're worried about that, you already know it's going to go through the art team, if it wins, and they'll make sure it fits nicely ; )

We were blown away by both the sheer volume (THOUSANDS :eek: ) and the overwhelming quality of what you all produced. The Re-Logic team has at long last completed the arduous task of going over every entry (yes, we did look at every. single. one.), and we are ready to reveal our choices for the 25 Journey's End Vanity Contest Finalists! Our criteria were focused on how cool we found the concept, how well we felt it could be executed on by our team, and how well we felt it would fit into Terraria. Note that for some concepts, multiple people may have had a similar idea. For these, the idea that best communicated the concept and/or stood out as being the most unique to the team was selected.

These will be listed below, in no particular order - however, we wanted to give you the instructions on how to vote first! Remember, the Top 3 will be moving on to having our artists work to pull those ideas into the game - so your votes matter! So here is how it is going to work...

TERRARIA: JOURNEY'S END VANITY CONTEST VOTING ​

In order to involve as many of the various arms of the Terraria Community as possible, we will be utilizing a centralized voting method that is not tied to any one aspect of the Community. Voting will all be done via the Google Forms link posted below. Before we get there, a few things to point out.

  • In order to limit the possibility of "ballot stuffing" (aka voting over and over again), you will be required to sign into a Google account in order to vote.
    • We figure this is as innocuous of a thing to ask as anything, since most folks either have a Google account or could make one easily
  • You will be asked to vote for a first, second, and third place entry - each entry will have an image, name, and the creator's name clearly listed.
    • If you so desire, you may vote for the same entry in all three places.
  • The order in which the finalists will appear is randomized for each voter, to avoid bias.

ALL VOTES MUST BE CAST BY MIDNIGHT EST ON APRIL 24, 2020​

You have your choice of (cyber) angel food cake, black forest (druid) cake, or a plate of fried mushrooms, and I can set it all in front of the TV (head), the windowsill with the floral (protector) arrangement, or the portrait of the cosmic horror.

I do hope you aren't suffering those contest related paranoid episodes again, sir. It would be most un-english.
 
Finalists are cool with me and I think they're all really well done. My only problem is the fact my submission could've had better design keeps me up at night.:confused:
 
I like how the ballot gives us first, second, and third place choices rather than the standard exactly one choice. It allows for a degree of nuance that should be present in all votes where there are more than two choices available.
