This set was primarily inspired by traditional Japanese attire. My favorite color is also purple and combined with a black base I think it looks very good. With the purple I have imagined it to be based off the corruption biome. This led me to believe that there could possibly be an alternate version for the crimson worlds with red trim and highlights instead of purple.

Head Piece- This is a relatively simple black hair pin with a purple accessory. I imagine that this could function similarly to the jungle rose where it is placed differently on different hairstyles, holding up tied up hair on some and simply placed into the hair on others.

Torso Piece- This is inspired by the Kimono and has long, loose sleeves to differentiate it and make it more interesting. It has a black base with purple trim on the sleeves and on the chest.

Leg Piece- This is designed as a long, loose, and trailing leg piece with a black base and purple trim on the hems and grey shoes

This is the Orange Fruitsuit. :)

I don't even know what I'm doing, but I've
played Terraria for about five years or so,
and I wanted to make some sort of
effort ... Just something for fun, ya know?

I feel like this would be a vanity set that players
would enjoy, as there aren't really any
other vanity sets that are blatantly
based on food. Also, who doesn't like
oranges? Personally, I like the idea of
having a "stupidly funny" vanity set to
play around with.

There are two versions, because I couldn't
decide whether or not to remove the leaf.
If there were a leaf, then it would flap as
the player would pick up speed (similar
to certain hairstyles from the Stylist).

I can't provide a gif or anything fancy, but
I hope that you'll consider this submission.
I'm a huge fan of citrus fruits, and I'm sure
that many more out there are!

Thanks so much for reading,
Q v a e

P. S. — Can't wait for 1.4!!

Terraria Vanity Contest Privateer Sub..png

This is like a Privateer Submission for the contest
I think this would be a great addition with the pirate suits already in the game there is a need for a more sailors suit of a vanity.
It should work well with dyes also so it can be unique to every player.

This will probably get lost in the submissions tho but its worth a try within all these great art entries.
It would be a great honor to be in the game forever and I wish everyone good luck with the contest and with the growing pandemic.

Greetings Terrarians!

The development team at Re-Logic were having a chat the other day about just how creative the Terraria community is - from art to music to in-game creations, you all are simply amazing. That got us to thinking... what better way to reward that creativity in the final Journey's End update than to give all of you creative geniuses a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get your very own vanity armor design into the game itself?

That's right - we are giving everyone a chance to submit their own original ideas for Terraria Vanity Armor/Outfits (Head/Torso/Legs), and the winners will see their ideas make it into the game for the Journey's End update! This is your chance to design your own brand new vanity outfit that you'd like to see added to the game! This is sort of like finding that golden ticket and getting to visit the chocolate factory, except there is no tour and no lifetime supply of chocolate... only fame and glory and bragging rights forever listed in one of the best video games ever crafted.

As you might imagine, there are some rules and guidelines and such that are important for you to follow - however, inside of these guidelines, have at it! Anything your minds can dream up, we want to hear about it!

You can also check out the Contest Submission Thread to see current submissions!
Please note! ALL SUBMISSIONS must be posted in the submission thread! If they are only posted in this thread, they will not be considered valid!

GUIDELINES & RULES
WHAT IS ALLOWED/NOT ALLOWED?
  • Only one submission per person! If you make multiple submissions, we will select the first submission made, and the latter ones will be disqualified.
  • All Vanity entries must be the original work of the person submitting the idea - no stealing! (yes, we will look -_-)
  • Sprites from Terraria mods *ARE* allowed but only if you are the original creator of that artwork (this means the actual artist, not just anyone that happened to work on a given mod)
  • Direct lifts/overt references to other games/movies/tv shows/etc. are quite likely to be rejected (if we have to ask permission to use it, don't submit it ;) )
  • Please keep it PG-13 - nothing profane/offensive/etc. please
  • If you are looking for more guidance and next-level design tips, check out this link > Terraria Vanity Contest Best Practices & Design Tips

HOW DO I SUBMIT MY ENTRY?
  • Entries should consist of a design that includes Head/Torso/Leg (aligned to those vanity armor slots in the game). We will not be including wings/dyes/weapons/etc. Sorry.
  • All entries must include artwork of some kind. This could mean anything from super-fancy hand drawn art to MS Paint-level scribbles. However, the art - and any accompanying descriptions - need to be able to clearly communicate the idea. If we have to struggle to understand the concept, it will hurt your chances of winning... and trying to guess art from just text is going to give all of us headaches.
  • If you have a name for your creation, please provide it.
  • Entries should be submitted by posting in the contest submission thread! Entries MUST be posted in the submission thread to be considered valid submissions! If you want to discuss the contest or specific entries, feel free to do so in this thread, Discord, etc.
  • All entries must be submitted by 11:59pm Eastern Time on April 13th, 2020 - NO EXCEPTIONS! :)

HOW WILL THE WINNERS BE SELECTED?
  • The Re-Logic team will select a list of finalists from all of the entries that are submitted by 11:59pm Eastern on April 13, 2020. If this thread is locked, you are too late!
  • We will reveal the finalists on the Weekly Stream later that week (April 17th) , and then we will post them here after the stream.
  • These finalists will be submitted for a community vote across all of our community platforms (TCF, Social Media, Discord, etc) - voting will commence after the reveal steam and conclude in one week, on April 24th. Voting instructions will be provided at that time.
  • There will be no more than three (3) winning entries.

HECK YEAH, I WON! NOW WHAT?
  • Re-Logic will directly contact the winners so that we can begin the process of adding your design into the game.
  • Please note that some creative license in regards to the interpretation on behalf of our artists is expected - so be flexible. (don't worry, we will make it amazing)
  • Re-Logic will have the final say on approval for the winning designs (actual art and text going in-game)
  • The winner's name will be included in some way in the tooltip and/or naming for the item, so that you can always pull it up in game to brag to your buddies.
  • Once we arrive on a final design, just wait for the day when Journey's End arrives and you can run around in your very own vanity creation!

LEGAL STUFF
  • By participating in the contest, you agree to relinquish all rights to your vanity design to Re-Logic for inclusion into the game. Winners will be required to sign a document to that effect.
  • If you are under the legal age to sign legal documents in your country (eg. Under 18 in most countries), you will need your parent or guardian to sign as well - so be sure to get that permission in advance! :)

Hello! I'm Chuckles, a long, long time Terraria fan. I was super excited at the thought of my creation getting into Terraria! There are so many other entries, i doubt mine will be seen, but i sure wish everyone the best of luck!! (also sorry for posting last minute, i was having troubles with my terraria forums account-)

This is Micha, a Koubu (a species i created!) He is an "Ice Elemental" so I was hoping that his vanity set could be unlocked through the snow biome in a way? like a rare drop from the ice golem or something!

Vanity Contest (1)_GIFFullArmor.gif

Here it is! this is basically a resprite of the copper ore but, i aint much of a sprite artist .-.

I was thinking it could be a bit rounder, (like in the example photo of the Koubu) so it wouldnt just be a copy of the copper armor. something more like this!
1586745462371.png

Head, Torso and Legs. For the armor slots!

I wonder how it would animate like, guess i'll see if it gets in!

The name of it could be something like "Koubu Suit" with a description like "Its cold to touch, but its warm when worn" or "The costume of a strange alien creature, certainly looks friendlier than some that I've seen." or something like that!

Thats all i have, thank you for taking the time to look at my entry to the contest! i hope i get in, but there are so many good ones out there, i see how its a tough competition! good luck to everyone! Goodbye and have a good day!!!

One of Terraria's greatest enigmas is that of the Dynasty. The Traveling Merchant comes bringing exotic wares from a land yet unknown, tantalizing clues of a place and people far away. Only now, as the Journey nears its end, does the Merchant bring the warrior costume of Dynasty heroes...

The Dynasty Hero Set. Costume items to represent the flexible, stylish visually striking armor of warriors from unknown legend.

Bynasty Hero Body Wear: "Flexible costume cuirass and pauldrons from the distant Dynasty"
Dynasty Hero Legwear: "Costume version of leg armor from swift-footed Dynasty warriors"

Bold colors and crests make any wearer stand out in the terrains, caverns and dungeons of Terraria.

There have been many Samurai submissions to this contest- and that's proof that more mysteries of the Dynasty must be revealed!
Thank you all, we're all heroes in Terraria.

ADVANCED SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

There are some limitations to Terraria's equipment system, as well as some features that not everyone is aware of. So to help provide a little extra insight into what is possible and available to you, as well as some restrictions, check out the details below!

- "Head" slots can be anywhere from a helmet, to a hat, to simple head accessories, like glasses or hairpins. Whether or not your character's hair will shown will depend on how much of their head is covered by the idea. A helmet or mask which fully encloses the head will not show hair at all. A hat or similar things like a crown may show some hair, but it will be cropped so as to not stick out of the sides of the hat. Smaller head accessories like glasses or hairpins can show the entirety of the players hair, assuming it looks correct. If you have a specific preference for the quantity of hair to be displayed, we can attempt to design it in such a way to work around that, but only within reason, so take that into consideration with your design!

- Most head slot armor and accessories occupy a single "head" slot in the character's display. As a result, the majority of head accessories cannot be combined with helmets; for example, you cannot see Nature's Gift (a head based accessory) when you are wearing a helmet. There are a handful of exceptions to this, but these are exceptions and as a general rule, you can't double-stack multiple pieces of headwear and have them both display. So if your design is intended to include a pre-existing accessory, or if you want two different elements (such as a Blindfold and a Hat at the same time), work that into your design as a "single" piece of headwear. You wouldn't be able to wear the Blindfold with the Hat later if you do not.

- Robe/Dress type torso slot items in the game sometimes cover part or all of the legs as well. If your proposal is reliant on such a design, a piece of clothing that covers the full lower body, that is equipped via the torso slot, that is okay. You could still include (or choose not to include) a leg slot item. Some items, such as Robes, will cover up the entire leg portion, so it would be invisible. Some skirt type and longcoat outfits such as the Red Riding set or the Rain Coat set have portions which extend to the legs, but the feet and legs themselves are still visible. Not every set needs a leg-piece to be complete, even some dev sets don't use them!

- Glowmasks (not to be confused with creating light!) are an option for use in your design. Glowmask are when a portion of an outfit displays as completely or partially bright, even in darkness. For an example of this, try equipping the Vortex or Dark Artist sets in vanity slots in a dark room. Vanity outfits aren't intended to actually generate light, so we won't be able to include light generation, but having some details or glowing lines in your outfit may be acceptable!

Any questions in a similar vein that arise, I'll add them to this post to help clarify things further!

Here's a good vanity for you. Hope you like it:
home-decorators-collection-bathroom-vanities-with-tops-w2036p3-kg-64_1000.jpg

Really ties the room together, in my opinion.

Though just in case that wasn't what you had in mind, here's a vanity costume submission, too:
20200412_224418.jpg
20200412_224401.jpg

(Hair would be visible behind hat and mask)

I call it the Timestream Trickster, but feel free to take whatever liberties you desire if it somehow gets added. Went through a few rough drafts, but I eventually settled on this design. Don't have professional computer drawing equipment or the like, so I did it analog. Not professional work by any means, but I didn't want to miss out on all the fun.

Looking forward to seeing who's vanities end up winning. Whatever the results, I'm glad I was able to see the creativity everyone has shown off. I've seen a ton of phenomenal submissions so far, and any one of them could easily be deserving of a spot in the game. It's easy to see how much love everyone here has for Terraria, devs and players alike.

Best of luck to everyone, and here's to the Journey's End!

Seafloor_Vanity_Contest_Nhicc.png

The Seafloor Outift
- Head Octopus
- Seaweed Sash
- Shell Shoes (w/ Starfish loincloth)

The idea is a makeshift outfit made from various seafloor materials and creatures. This sprite isn't perfect (the shoes are supposed to be conch shells) but I do like how the octopus turned out. Thank you for your consideration.

It's 3 pirates in a trenchcoat.
I think the concept could be edited, but the main theme is three tiny men. The eyepatch pirate is obviously the bottoms/legs, so you look like you are getting a very tiny piggyback ride.
Torso is the redheaded beard guy in the middle, this is where the trenchcoat REALLY comes in, so that without the third vanity item, the 'helmet' of a tiny mans head, its just your very large head on top of a trench coat with two tiny men inside.
Hope thats not too confusing.

Here's my submission

Kardia's Set

The two Hairpins have different colors:
The top one is White, the bottom one is Pink

The Chest Piece has a Scarf and a Pink Heart on the center of the Shirt, a longsleeve undershirt, as well as Shoulder and Elbow Pads

The Legs have a Belt, leather Shorts and Straps, and cloth Pants, with leather shoes for footwear.

1586748744201439473870.jpg

This is the Zamnar Merchant set. It consists of the following:
- Zamnar Merchant Mask (head), a yellow mask shaped like a face with two bright thin white eyes and a hole for breathing. A red and black hat is sewn on to the top of the mask (no, it's not a pokeball) and has a small white circle on the front. You can see the merchant's large white teeth through the breathing hole in the mask (somewhat like the wall of flesh mask but less demonic). The mask is used to keep the merchant's face warm while he is travelling through cold environments like the snow biome.
- Zamnar Merchant Jacket, a heavy red coat with a removable collar for keeping the snow and cold air out of the jacket and a zipper along the middle of the jacket. There is a symbol similar to the one on the merchant's hat in the center of the jacket. There is a white panel on the right arm and yellow leather gloves are attached to the ends of the sleeves. He has a holster where he keeps an emergency Venus Magnum in case someone tries to rob him of his shop items.
-Zamnar Boot-pants, a pair of red pants with a coating of water-proof material. The pants are attached to thick black rubber winter boots and have a built in tool belt.
- Merchant's Backpack, a large waterproof bag for carrying his portable unfolding shop. His rival, the Travelling Merchant hates him because of his many customers and great prices. (He also sells useful stuff.)View attachment 265228

I would like to see this set in the game but there are so many to pick from. I hope the winners are picked based on creativity and not the artwork itself. Good luck everybody!
