The idea is simple. Kindle Wings are found very rarely (1/40 chance) in Shadow Chests. For the most part, they are the same as the Fledgling wings, with the sole exception of flight time. Fledgling flies for about 6-8 blocks, whilst this one flies for 12-16. (For reference, Demon and Angel wings fly for 32, and they also have much better horizontal speed than the Fledgling/Kindle Wings, so these'll still suck in hardmode.)
Despite being equally as rare in chance as Fledgling wings, they are still more common than their heavenly cousin, as whilst in a good large world you might have maybe 6 Sky chests, you'll easily exceed that number in Shadow Chests in even a small world.
The Kindle wings are of Orange rarity, and look like charred ash wood with specks of fire on them.
Whilst yes, they are useless for say, The Mechanical Bosses, they're still a nice find, making the Wall of Flesh much easier, and are especially useful for dodging Wyvern dashes, allowing you to upgrade these wings easily.
