The Lifeform Analyzer is pretty easy to get from the Traveling Merchant since it is pretty commonly sold, the metal detector however, a different story

Yes, but having the nymph spawn is pretty rare.

Try setting up a long platform out of stone underground. It works I swear. Also the spawn rate of a nymph is not as rare as you think 0.6%
