Blocks & Decoration Lightening Paint

No no no, I'm not talking about lightning, but a paint that would change the brightness of a block. For example, there could be two paints "Darken Paint" and "Brighten Paint", Each of these does what's in the name. However, I thought it would be a great idea if they worked as an overcoat to other paints. for example, I could paint a block Deep Blue and use a brighten paint to make it ... brighter!
This could be a brilliant addition for builders as you could make 3d builds that aren't Monotone!!!

Hm, perhaps call the paints "Low Contrast" and "High Contrast" since that is kinda associated with "lighting" in static "pictures"

Btw, a good use of shading could be to use actuators to make it seem 3d... heres an example I made:
