The world is running on linux TerrariaServer.bin.x86_64, and connected are.
* Me via Linux native client, GOG version
* My friend that on Steam version, recent windows version (I'll try update with version)

What happened:
1) Friend discovers Skellington merchant in caverns, and buys spelunker glowsticks while I'm a bit offscreen.
2) I head the same way intending to sell off junk, and about at the same time I arrive my friend is disconnected from the game. VoIP is still working.
3) I see his character just standing and there's a few non-interactable coins nearby, friend is unable to rejoin; $ipv4 was booted: $player is already on this server.

4) Skellington is still nearby, however when I open the shop there's no spelunker glowsticks, only regular green ones.
5) Friend character then disappears and is then able to re-join.
6) Glowsticks are retained in friends's inventory, but when opening the shop now they're not for sale anymore (it seems to present the same shop to us both now).

I dont know if the changed shop inventory is a bug, but I have not observed that behaviour before?
I'm speculating it was a game state disagreement that might have caused my friend's disconnection, but of course that could also just be coincidence.
It's pretty hard to test or reproduce. Has anyone ideas or been able to make similar observations?

Spelunker Glowsticks are sold based on a certain moon phase/time, and its likely that in the interim time between your friend shopping and you shopping there, the day changed, which would change his inventory accordingly.

Ah, ok. With that explaination it seems more likely just 2 coincidences and this report invalid. I've nothing to add and would mark/close this thread accordingly.
