PC Lost hours worth of terraria worlds and characters

I genuinely have no idea what happened but I booted up terraria one day and I see that everything is just gone except anything uploaded to steam cloud. I checked the terraria folder aswell and my characters and worlds are no where to be seen. I'm just really confused as to what happened.

Could you check if OneDrive is enabled? It's possible it started syncing your files and moved everything to the cloud.
