I don't think there is an actual real-life machine gun in the game yet but correct me if I'm wrong. Add a machine gun with a style similar to the Uzi. Crafted with 1 Uzi, 10 Soul of Might, and 1 Illegal Gun Parts.

closest we have right now is the Megashark, it has one barrel (unlike the Minishark and Chain Gun which are visibly miniguns, and the SDMG, which would conceivably also have one barrel, but in-game the bullets just fly out of the dolphin's nose) and it also fires fast enough that it could be comparable to a modern rifle (relatively speaking, of course — the "golden standard" AK47 fires at ~600 rounds per min based on a quick google search, i'd assume that would be fast enough to make your bullets blend together into one line in-game)

I don't disagree with adding a real machinegun to the game but this method of obtaining it isn't great. The Uzi is a very rare gun and this recipe is extremely similar to the recipe for Megashark, it would have to be similar in power to it and considering that you need the Uzi to drop in order to make it a lot of players would just ignore it and get the Megashark instead as all of its components can either be bought or obtained in an easy, way less grindy way (Souls of Might are guaranteed from the destroyer and apart from that the only other item that can't be bought are shark fins, which are a common drop from sharks).

I feel like if they were going to add a normal machine gun, it would be better off as a late pre-Hardmode weapon. Actually, it might fit well in the Dungeon, given how the Dungeon is already a location with a lot of real-world guns in it. It could be obtained from locked chests; there isn't really a "best" place for it to go, but there's only one Ranged weapon in the locked golden chests in the Dungeon right now, so it would smooth out a (minor/nigh non-existent) imbalance.
