The Destroyer
This mod is currently a WIP and is not available to the public. It will be released later in the future.
Maelstrom mod is a content mod that aims to add new unique items, mechanics, weapons, bosses, and other features to the game, while also keeping a terraria feel.
It also aims to improve parts of the game, such as the summoner class and flareguns, and giving certain materials and tiles more uses.
Some sprites are a WIP and have not yet been completed. The content shown is subject to change.
Vanadium Set
Vanadium Ore
Vanadium will be obtained after a new boss has been defeated. It currently does not generate naturally, but will in the future.
Vanadium Bar
Used to make various vanadium themed items and is also an important material for several other items.
Vanadium Shock
Vanadium shock is a new debuff inflicted by vanadium weapons. It works similarly to electrified, but for enemies. The player can also get this debuff if they are hit by another players projectile during pvp, or if they are hit by their own projectile after it is reflected by an enemy.
Vanadium Tools
50 melee damage
Vanadium Tools have a faster mining speed if the player is in the sky (or if the player has the vanadium shock debuff).
Vanadium Shortsword
75 melee damage
The Vanadium shortsword is a fast swinging shortsword with autoswing.
Vanadium Bruiser
100 melee damage (80 melee damage for alt fire)
The Vanadium bruiser is a slow swinging sword that deals heavy knockback to enemies.
When right clicked, the sword fires a vanadium cutter and has autoswing.
Vanadium Halberd
120 melee damage
The vanadium halberd is a fast use spear that creates several after images which deal damage to enemies.
Vanadium Aversion Flaregun
135 classless damage
A powerful upgrade to the flaregun with a strong dislike for those who threw it out.
Crafted using 3 flareguns (which is currently a placeholder for a new material crafted from flareguns) and vanadium.
Fires a barrage of Aversion Flares which travel along the ground.
Can also damage dark crawlers.
Vanadium Tornado
45 ranged damage
When used, the vanadium tornado creates a stormnado at the location of the cursor (as long as there is a line of sight between the player and the cursor).
If there is not a line of sight, several bullets are fired in a shotgun like fasion.
The Vanadium Tornado can also be charged, creating a bigger and more powerful stormnado based on the amount of time it has been charged.
Only one stormnado can be active at a time.
When a stormnado is active, the Vanadium Tornado instead fires bullets in a shotgun like fashion.
The stormnado eventually explodes into several bullets, which take on the properties of the ammo used to create the stormnado.
Stormslayer
93 ranged damage
When used with wooden arrows, the storm slayer fires storm arrows.
When a storm arrow hits an enemy, they will ricochet directly into another nearby enemy.

93 ranged damage
When used with wooden arrows, the storm slayer fires storm arrows.
When a storm arrow hits an enemy, they will ricochet directly into another nearby enemy.
Each minion has their own favorite instrument.
Currently implemented with the optic staff and harp.
10 summon damage
Summons a fire fly.
Each firefly takes up 1/4 of a minion slot.
Fire flies can be controlled by right clicking the summon weapon.
Fire flies also target the closet hostile npc to the player while not being controlled
Crafted with 4 fire flies, 5 iron bars, and 1 chain at an anvil.
15 summon damage
Summons a bat
Bats prioritize enemies with the lowest defense, making it a good weapon of choice for Skeletron, as the bats target the hands first.
Drops from bats.
Crab Staff
17 summon damage
Summons a crab
Crabs prioritize enemies that drop the most money. Enemies killed by summoned crabs also drop more money.
Drops from Crabs
25 summon damage
Releases a drone with a gun.
Crafted using 10 Active Stone blocks, 1 Black Lens, and 2 Lens
Also drops from demon eyes.
30 summon damage
Planned to be obtained after the Eater of Worlds/Brain of Cthulhu has been defeated, but is currently not obtainable.
Summons an ice crystal that hovers above the player and shoots nearby enemies.
Trax Staff
Summons a Moto Shotzo.
By default, Moto Shotzos use normal summon targeting. They fire Shotzo Cannonballs in bursts of 3 towards their target.
When the player takes contact damage from an enemy, Moto Shotzos switch their priority to the enemy closest to the player and gain boosted stats.
Crafted using any iron bar, wire, and musket balls.
Shanghai Staff
37 summon damage
Summons a Shanghai Doll that targets the closest enemy to the player.
Currently unobtainable, but will be obtained during early hardmode.
40 summon damage
Takes up 1/2 of a minion slot.
Summons a weaponized compass.
When not attacking any enemies, the Compass always points towards the players original spawnpoint, unless it is in the underworld.
The Compass is locked to a set distance around the player. The compass will only attack enemies that are near this distance, allowing each compass to focus on a different enemy.
Crafted using 1 compass, 10 iron bars, 10 hallowed bars, and 10 souls of might at a hardmode anvil.
130 summon damage
Summons a ring Dark Matter Cannon around the player
Dark Matter Cannons do not fire on their own. Instead, they can fire at the cursor when right clicking the summon weapon.
Drops from a new post moonlord boss that has not been revealed yet.
90 summon damage
Summons a drill that has long been forgotten.
Each additional use summons a drill turret which deals a consistent amount of damage to enemies.
The Forgotten Drill takes up 1 minion slot, while the drill turrets take up 1/2 of a minion slot.
Each additional turret increases the damage output, speed, and size of the Forgotten Drill.
In some point in the future, it will get new sprites for each tier (like the Desert Tiger Staff).
Its crafting recipe is a secret for now, but it is similar to the Drill Containment Unit.
Dark Crawler
Unlike most hostile npcs however, dark crawlers will not spawn near any light sources that are valid for npc housing.
Dark Crawlers are also resist almost all forms of damage, and can reflect projectiles.
However, valid light sources can repel and damage then.
Other ways to damage dark crawlers include flareguns, shine potions, and lava.
Flareguns gain a massive damage boost against Dark Crawlers.
They also burn during the day on the surface.
Heartstopper
Heartstoppers pursues and launches purity hearts at the player.
Soil Elemental
They attack by charging at the player.
They drop dirt, clay silt or mud, providing a renewable way to obtain them.
They are also useful for skyblock or for players who don't want to tear up their world.
Space Jellyfish
Unlike normal jellyfish, Space Jellyfish can fly, and fire dangerous electric projectiles towards the player.
When struck, space jellyfish change their color to a very dark blue and flee.
After a few seconds, they change back to their normal blue color.
On expert mode, 1 out of every 3 space jellyfish spawn camouflaged, and wait until a player gets close.
Wind Elemental
They can only spawn in certain altitudes, and the windspeed must exceed 20 mph. Only one wind elemental can be active in a world at a time.
Wind elementals are difficult to defeat, and have a couple of tricks.
They swoop the player, and can fire wind blasts. While charging up a wind blast, wind elementals can reflect projectiles.
Wind Blasts can push the player, and ignore knockback. They become more dangerous and aggressive at higher wind speeds.
Higher wind speeds boost the size and velocity of wind blasts.
Drifter
Their movement is influenced by wind speed.
Enraged Flareguns
They can also be summoned by trashing a flaregun.
Come in two varieties, red flares and blue flares.
Red Enraged Flareguns fire more flares but move slower.
Blue Enraged Flareguns move faster but fire less flares.
They drop Flaregun components when killed
Gun Elemental
They spawn with a random bullet type, which determines what type bullet they shoot.
They drop their respective bullet type.
Can rarely spawn with party bullets.
Blastlite
They can be launched with true melee attacks, or forced to detonate with other attacks.
More enemies coming soon!
50 ranged damage
Turns musket balls into cryonic bullets, which inflict frostburn.
25 melee damage
Inflicts frostburn on non cold enemies.
Cold enemies (for example, ice elementals) or enemies with frost burn release frenzy flurries when struck.
Frenzy flurries home in on enemies.
20 melee damage
Rake in the lake.
Has 3 uses.
For the main use, the rake is swung.
For the alt use, the rake is used like a spear.
When using the alt use, and then switch to the main use, the rake is thrown like a javeline.
15 melee damage
Inflicts a debuff to struck npcs that freezes in place. The duration of debuff depends on the npc's knockback resistance.
Bosses and npcs with knockback resistance are immune to the debuff.
135 melee damage
Has the longest range out of any spear. Good for true melee users who need a way to take out the satelstrikes summoned by Raiko.
73 melee damage
The firebrand cycles through 3 attacks.
For the first two attacks, the firebrand is swung.
For the third attack, the firebrand is swung in around the player, hitting npcs that are near the player.
Cryboric Slime
Fought after the mech bosses.
"It's cold, slimy, and highly explosive. But there is something off about it. My equipment has trouble detecting it and it glows in the dark. It occasionally becomes intangible, and sometimes it even vanishes into thin air."

Flurries launch themselves towards enemies and explode on impact. They reform next to the player after a few seconds.
Flurries target the closest enemy to the player.
More drops coming soon!
Raiko
A weather satellite infused with powerful magic, Raiko has the ability to summon any form of weather, but prefers lightning. Raiko was born during an incident after a large group of satellites were accidentally struck by powerful magic. All of the satellites within the blast area were transformed into what are now known as satelstrikes, and their nature has yet to be explained. Raiko was hit directly by the blast, thus gaining the most magic. It's ability to control weather is likely due to it's origins as a advanced weather satellite.
This will be implemented in the near future once the portrait and all of the animations are done!

The for the second and third attack, several stormrider clones are created which rotate around the player.

80/95 magic damage
Main Fire:
Throws 2 surgerods, which travel in a zigzag pattern.
Alt Fire:
Summons a lightning bolt, which deals continuous damage over time.
57 summon damage
Both are the fastest summons in the mod, and can easily keep up with quick bosses.
Main fire:
Summons a satellite (not to be confused with a satelstrike).
Satellites orbit around the targeted npc, firing spark cutters at them.
Spark cutters inflict Satellite Disruption, which weakens npc defense by 20%
This makes them a good support summon to have on your team!
Alt Fire:
Summons ball lightning.
Ball lightning can come in several colors!
Ball lightning erratically charges after targeted npcs. They adjust their velocity based on their targets velocity.
Thunder Drum (mount)
When used, the player gains precise movement.
The player's hitbox also becomes smaller 16x16 square.
More bosses coming soon!
Ice fairy
She spawns during blizzards after Cryboric Slime has been defeated.
She can freeze any projectile near her, including hostile projectiles and tombstones, before launching them as weapons
For friendly projectiles, only projectiles that can be reflected deal damage.
Miracle Moon
“Long before Terraria had modern technology, the Miracle Moon was used by mages to amplify magic and produce powerful and miraculous spells. But the introduction and creation of modern technology revealed a dangerous side effect…”
The furnace is currently a placeholder
Maniac Mower
Time for a bit of mowing! They erratically jump and charge at the player!
Beserk Chainsaw
Unidentified Flying Fan
It's a bird. It's a plane. No wait... Is that a ceiling fan!?
They fly above the player and shoot bursts of lasers! If the player approaches them, they panic and fly away, only to return and shoot more lasers.
They switch to a charge attack if the player is above or close to their vertical position.
Extreme Heaters
A transformed heater too hot for the world to handle. They shoot homing fireballs at the player! They can fly higher as the player's health gets lower.
Northern Lights
Hailstorms
Hailstorms can occur in any biome with rain, including the desert. The player can avoid Hailstorms by going to a snow biome.
During hailstorms, hailstones fall from the sky and can come in different sizes. The size of hail is random, and larger sizes deal more damage.
The amount of hail that falls is determined by the intensity of the rain. Larger hailstones deal more damage.
