tModLoader Make a tile give a Debuff

I've tried to look around but i can't seem to find how to do this anywhere.
I have a block that i would like to have the same effect as the Meteor or Hellstone block where standing on it would give the player the On Fire! debuff unless they have the Obsidian Skull or similar item.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

That seems to have worked, thanks! Totally didn't see that function when i peaked through the Docs. Must of missed it.

Hmm, well it did give the player the effect, but the Obsidian Skull doesn't seem to block the effect when equipped, and neither does a Obsidian Skin potion.
Is there something else needed?

I guess you could alway check if the player doesn't have them before applying the debuff
