Pets are supposed to be cosmetic. You are supposed to be able to pick and choose whatever one you like best or fits with your aesthetic.
And then you added chester.
As the first and only useful pet, it immediately puts any player that doesn't use him at a self-imposed disadvantage. Why use any other cosmetic pet when you can have a permanent piggy bank?
Solution? Make chester go in the "light pets" slot. This keeps the current "pets" slot cosmetic, and forces the player to choose between a permanent piggy bank or permanent light.
This opens the door for other "functional pets" (again, in the "light pet" slot) such as a magic portal pet that allows access to the void bag or a "holographic screen" pet that displays time/position? Or a fairy pet that points you in the direction of the nearest ore?
Lastly, chester should be reworked to access the safe instead, and the money trough could be equipable as a pet.
