Biomes & Nature Make fertilizer ignore tree growth conditions

Trees have very specific conditions to grow. They require a lot of open space, in fact far more than they actually take up, and they cannot grow in front of even a single tile of background wall. They also have to be on the surface level. For builders, these restrictions are either tedious to build around with it enforcing a strict order of operations for many tight builds that include trees or are entirely prohibitive in some cases.

Enter fertilizer, which as it currently stands alleviates none of these limitations. As an avid builder, I find this item underwhelming, yet one simple change could make it invaluable. I propose that fertilizer should force trees to grow even if certain normal conditions are not met. As long as physical space exists for the smallest possible branchless tree, a tree will grow, if needed growing without branches or growing particularly short in order to confine itself to the space. This would not only open up new avenues for builders to incorporate natural trees into their builds but would also allow finer control over how the tree grows by limiting the space available. Especially with the introduction of Infused Fertilizer already teased for 1.4.5, blocking off the top then using that with these changes implemented would guarantee the desired height.
