NPCs & Enemies Make it where killing gold creatures gives gold!

Lets say this: You've just started a playthrough, and currently you have no way of getting a bug net: and KABOOM! a golden bunny spawns. Everyone hates it. So make it drop less gold when killed then when sold, but still make it drop gold! Everyone would love it!

No, this would incentivize the mindless killing of critters and I cannot support that. If you want golden critters, get a house and 50 silver. Or if you're extra adamant about it, just take a loan of a bug net from another world and purchase it later with interest by giving (25 silver + interest) back to the character of the original world. (I recommend an interest rate of maybe 3-5 silver a day.)

Otherwise, if you get a golden critter right off the bat and you're desperate, you could enclose the critter in blocks and attempt to fufill the merchant's spawn requirements from there.

I know, but nobody would willingly kill them once they got 50 silver for a net. This is just for the in-caseys

Plenty of people don't get nets because they don't care. More people would start to avoid going to the simple effort of buying a bug net and Guide to Critter Companionship if this was implemented; they just wouldn't see as much of a need to. (And plenty of players willingly kill critters for some reason, even gold ones. They need to be given less of a reason to do so, not more of a reason.)

but it gives less gold

but it gives less gold
Any amount of gold would give critter-killing players an excuse to avoid using a bug net. There shouldn't be any award for killing them! Gold critters are currently a great motivation for players to actually get and use a bug net and the GtCC.

but still its our playthrough

can we stop arguing now

some people dislike that and call it cheating, but whatever, the idea still stands

i think it's a nice idea.

as for this, it would be pretty hard to get 50 silver from where you're at, since it's likely the critter could despawn when off-screen and you'd come back to an empty box.
additionally, i like killing owls that land on my house. free target dummy + you can't cook them

(sorry if I'm coming off as aggressive or mean, I just really don't want people to kill critters)

@HandsomeSquirrel🐿️🍉⭐️ all of these negative posts from you are giving me anxiety, could you unwatch this page, and come back tomorrow? i don't need the stress

I think it shouldn't be money but instead gold or platinum bars

This is meant for if players dont have a bug net, not if they need more gold bars

Killing gold critters to get gold is just lazy, there's a reason Bug Net isn't available immediately.
The reason Red made Terraria is to watch us suffer playing it.
