There are many Town NPCs which can be spawned with many strange names, such as the Witch Doctor, and Cyborg. X Æ A-12 is also, in fact, a strange name. Although the strange name of X Æ A-12 could be assigned to both of these NPCs, I believe it belongs on the cyborg, as the Cyborg has robotic names such as T-3EO and other names which you would see rarely anywhere else. X Æ A-12 shares this trait, as it sounds inhuman and is very rare to see as someone's name. So from this, I think that X Æ A-12 is a type of name to fit on the cyborg, just to add one more funny reference to Terraria.
