Game Mechanics Maps and Wire

Wire can be seen on the screen, but not the map. This seems inconvenient to me, so I have 3 ideas on how to fix it.
-Wire can always be seen on the map
-Wire can be seen on the map when holding a wiring item or using forced mechanical display
-Wire can be seen on the map only when using forced mechanical display

Option one would be annoying unless there was a toggle-off, but two and three are good ideas.

This could be it's own suggestion, but wouldn't it be cool if you could add wire through the map?

Any of these ideas are great! Number 1 would be possibly annoying but it honestly wouldn't bother me.
