I have no idea how impossible it would be to make a matching service within the game, but I would love to have something like that rather than the website for highly controlled servers. I don't even think it would be a big deal to have a P2P client like how Rockstar does it without servers to maintain. Players can then just have a "ban" list for other players they never want to play with because they are being trolls.
I would also recommend a convenient way to back up and make clones of maps for online play within the game itself. Going in to the file system is not a big deal but it would be a nice quality of life.
