Not bad...
The Meteor Mask bonus may be a tad overtuned, but is compensated by requiring a niche and potentially difficult to use weapon, while also providing increased viability to an early hardmode weapon...

And, the Necro Hood bonus seems a tad undertuned. I'm not entirely sure if the extra minion slot and single point of defense make up for the reduced stats compared to Obsidian armor.

I thought it to be worse than Molten (in Defense)
And its HM Buff lvl it up at 2nd HM Tier Lvl

the Necro Hood bonus seems a tad undertuned
I tried to make it a mid point between Bee and Obsidian
it has 2% less Sum DMG than Bee Set
Less Whip bonus than Obsidian
But has the same amount of + minion of Bee and higher defense

Maybe +2 extra defense works better
 
For the meteor rework, it doesn't fix the problem of meteor armor being just better than jungle armor outside of max mana.

As for the melee side, the fact that it also gives a pure damage increase makes it stronger than Molten Armor, as Melee Speed buffs don't apply to a large chunk of melee weapons. Defensively it's weaker, but even using one accessory as warding makes up for most of the defense loss without losing out on the damage advantage.

True to form for the meteor set, you wouldn't really bother using the associated weapon, because phaseblades suck in comparison to night's edge swords.

As for the necro rework, this is just a ranger/summoner hybrid armor. You pick the hood and use ranged weapons with a 10% boost and summoner weapons with a larger boost.

I always thought that meteor went for Magic Damage
While Jungle went to Crit Chance

Melee Speed does, in fact, affect all Melee Weapons, depends on the type of the Melee weapon how Melee Speed affects it

Molten Armory provides Melee Speed and Crit Chance, which Meteor Melee lacks of, and provides immunity to On Fire!, what is useful against Wall of Flesh (what is fought in Underworld)
And difference in Melee Damage is just 7%, not that much

True, but you get Phase Blades (Post Evil Boss) much early on than Night Edge (Post Skeletron), and are far more easy to craft

Also, there is a rework to Phase weapons coming into the next update

This is true, I will move the Whip bonus to the Breastplate and the Sum DMG to the Hood to prevent that
 
Why does meteor armor give you melee damage? It's a mage set. Necro armor is fine though.

It's a Rework, now is hybrid Mage/Melee, and you can specialized it by using one head piece or the other

Not a bad idea, but I feel like only 8% damage is a tad bit underpowered. 8% additional damage on the Volcano is only 3.2 additional damage (which would be 3 because of rounding). Also, it would be cool if maybe Fossil armor was a ranger/summoner hybrid. Just an idea.

Well, we lack of a proper Tundra Set
Flinx is 2 pieces and Frost is hybrid

Also, could be headpieces, breast pieces, or leg pieces, there isn't too much difference in make vary the head or the breast or the legs

But is more easy to identify the head than the breast or legs, that's why is always the head, and if more easy to sprite and animate since is smaller than the other pieces
 
Also, is easier make a Set what can vary one of its pieces than create a brand new set without running out of ideas

That's why Big mods add new biomes, sub biomes or mini biomes with their own themes to make items from it

Also is easier to balance

It’s so much more unique and fun to have different designs and different ways to obtain armor in playthroughs.

There’s already enough armor in Pre-HM, and even then for half of it classess aren’t really defined so I think it doesn’t need more class armors.

Endgame has enough too. Besides Shroomite I actually like the piece choices, but I can imagine adding new armors. But there’s room for a Frost Moon armor, Martian armor, a late game Evil Biome armor, maybe even an Ocean armor as it’s the only one without a definite armor set.

The only real area suffering from this is early-HM, which it can’t be hard to fit in a unique Melee, Magic, and Ranged armor somewhere in there.

I agree with the unque part, but fun is subjective.
