Weapons & Equip Meteor Set and Necro Set Rework

Then play the same class or use the existing multiclass armors.
If you play the same class but have a different subclass though, without headpieces you're kinda cooked.

I think headpieces exist because it's a lot more work to design a whole armor set than a single piece.

Just have it buff every subclass. Besides, any non-summoner subclass is often arbitrarily categorized.

I’m not saying remove them, I’m saying try to stay away from them if possible. Like Cobalt to Hallowed armors are perfect and Chlorophyte is good enough.

Making these armors intentionally streamline progression more is just bad.

Sub Classes don't exist besides OAA Sets (Sentries hybrid) and Shoormite

Obsidian could be consider a Sub Class (Whip Sub Class), but that set is more meant to an aggressive play style, rather than a Sub Class

Making these armors intentionally streamline progression more is just bad.

Consider that in that time the game was simplest, when biome chest where introduced, and Hydra Staff appear was incredible "A Magic Weapon that stays in place doing a lot of damage!"

Then Sum was officially added

Same as Expert, was a massive increase in difficulty in that time

There’s a difference between having the boring HM ore armor sets be helmets and the most important pre-HM armors have it. The only reason Hallowed and Chlorophyte are acceptable is the weird tri-progression of the mechs.

They’re fine because they’re just ore sets and, like I said above, Hallowed and Chlorophyte are in a weird place in progression.

Now I’m not against a unique armor for every class— kinda like Spider— during this, but it isn’t really needed like how mage is desperate for weapons pre-Skeletron.

Is like long live MMO RPG, you create your character, play for a lot of time, get the best items and your the strongest player

Next update new items are add and now you are one of many

Then Hallowed
Then Chlorophyte and Turtle
Then Chlorophyte made Sets
Then Lunar

Same with weapons
1st Night Edge
Then Terra Blades
Then the long dispute between Influx Weaver, Horseman Blade and Terra blade
Then Star Wrath and Meowmere
And now Zenith

I still remember the Razor Typhoon Empire

Sub Classes are like the Regional Bird or Pika Clone in Pokemon, are Fan Concepts, even if they are in every game
 
I like this suggestion, I think that multiclass armors is something that there could be more of in the game and I really like the idea of having a phaseblade/saber armor set as this would couple nicely with the changes coming to the weapons in 1.4.5. I do think that with the suggestion making it so that meteorite armour no longer makes the space gun cost 0 mana, the space gun would definitely need a buff. Full suport otherwise
 
The 1st version of the Meteor was something as you tell

It did provided mana regen and decrease mana cost by 20%, later lost its mana for 0 cost for the Space Gun and obtained damage

You can imagine why, 20% of mana cost is a lot

Also, was a Pre Boss Set
 
Still is preboss. Just a pain in butt to get. gold chest in bottom 250 tiles of the world map can have meteorite bars as secondary loot.
And meteor is find the way it is. allows for two different mage styles Glass Cannon, and Mana Conservation (the spectre mask and hood are follow these). Really shouldn't change it.
