Minas Tirith
Build time: ~180 hours (with almost all building accessories, fishron mount and drilling unit)
Expert map (but not hardmode)
Full size images (day and night): Map file itself: World1.7z
License CC-BY

Keep in mind that this is a very inconvenient base to play (It was made for the looks). And there is not so much on the map to look at except the city itself.
Also please, don't suppose that this caricature of Minas Tirith should have been a perfect representation of the city from books, movies, games, artwork or your own idea of how it should have been.
Some water streams are connected only on high graphics quality.

Enjoy,
Anton

PS: Cliff is actually points west instead of east, but I got this revelation too late to feel inclined to fix it.

This is absolutely amazing! I love how you have the Palantir up in the tower! Bonus points to you for knowing the books! My only question is what the black area is to the right. Is that supposed to be the Black Gate in the distance or something?

Well no, It's supposed to be first wall and gates of minas tirith that was described as monolith black if I remember correctly. I used smooth granite painted grey for gate (front) and black for wall (at the back). so this is wall with towers that is supposed to go to the other side of the cliff... :)

this artwork is most closely matches concept of what I had in mind

The thing is I needed to strip layer of walls (front to us at every level) to actually make something playable

Hey everyone, just sign up to share my last project. I'm not sure why I can't upload same file as I uploaded to steam community (5Mb png) so no preview here...

This is so fun to look at. Incredible detail and fantastic work. I love how I can see some NPCs living there as well.

Can I help you insert an image into your first post so people browsing by can instantly see a preview? And then to see it in greater detail they can click on one of the links.

Sure, help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I added a screenshot to the opening post. Please feel free to edit around it as you see fit. And then, to see the build in greater detail, people can click on the full image links. ~:)

The old Reddit hug.
Imgur is better for images like that anyway as there is no file limit and the urls are shorter.

Ah, that makes sense. Apparently I'm more corrupted by the movie than I thought. ;)

oh wow this is amazing! this would be great for a main city for a terraria adventure server. good job sir.

Technically, the cliff doesn't face west because last I checked, the sun rises from the west in terraria (west is the left side of the world)

It does? I don't know. While traditionally west is placed on the left, east is, as far as I know, by definition (literally) which way sun rises. There is mentions of east and west in events but after all the time I spent in terraria I'm not really sure if it even means anything because enemies are attacking from every corner of the screen as far as I'm concerned! Anyway, if it would be LotR world cliff would be pointing west:D

It`s absolutely amazing. I like your art. You have a significant talent, mate. I like how you made the towers. It`s incredible that you`ve made it in 180 hours. You have to know the books really well. I have just one question about the black area on the right. It`s that supposed to be the Black Gate, or is it supposed to be the first wall and gates of minas? By the way, I have a website where you can find everything you want about Minas Tirith. I recommend to use <link removed by staff> because you will enjoy it as much as I did.
Thanks!
sorry it took so long to reply, just logged after a while to update world file link. didn't get a notification because i didn't agree to updated terms and conditions before i guess...
yeah black area is supposed to be the first wall. probably should have added some buildings there too or stick with the white first wall. really didn't thought it may be confusing when built it:)
