The Wither boss in Minecraft was explictly said by Jens to be based off of the boss summoning mechanics from Terraria. It’d be like us taking Eye of Cthulu from Don’t Starve and saying it’s not ours. It is.

I don't think more is necessary. I think the references that are already implemented are are good enough.
