There is a lot of great info there, it should be read in full if you really want to host an online server.

I can't answer the will, but as for the now, no their is no cross platform play or save conversion.

Sad guide face time .
I knew it from first when devs mentioned minium specs that my tablet won't launch the game. But I wanted to join the hype. So I decided to buy a new one. But my father say he will buy it 2 years later. (after I finished study). So everyone, enjoy the update without me

EDIT: Even though I already have the update, crashes bombard the update, likely because my IPhone 6 barely has enough RAM to get the update. I already sent a bug report involving crashes moments after saving and quitting a world or defeating a boss. To make matters worse, I found out that IPhone 6 does not have enough RAM to host even local games! I guess my annoying sibling will forever be locked out of my worlds until I grab one of those newer IPhones.
